About ILBS

Institute of Liver & Biliary Sciences (ILBS) is an autonomous Institute of excellence under the Government of NCT of Delhi. The ILBS offers teaching, research and treatment in the field of Liver and Biliary diseases and allied disciplines. ILBS has been accorded Deemed-to-be-University status by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under section 3 of the UGC Act 1956 and 'A' Grade by National Assessment and Accreditation Council. Institute also ranked 12 in Medical Category in NIRF ranking 2021 of MHRD. How to Apply

The desirous candidates wishing to join the PhD programmes at ILBS must visit the official website of ILBS. The candidates should visit the official website and must read the prospectus carefully available on the website. They must check their eligibility before applying. Applications for the above-mentioned courses will be submitted online through the "Login Panel for Academics APPL" at the ILBS website. The candidates will have to register themselves. If they have a login & password from earlier registration they can use that. In case, if they have forgotten they can recover their password using the "forgot password" option. Once registered, the candidate must re-login the online application portal and must fill in the full name, contact number and correspondence address in the online application. All the mandatory details are to be filled and no column should be left blank. Requisite documents must be uploaded online. In-service candidates must send their application through the proper. It is suggested to use Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome Browser for filling the online form.

Application Fee

The candidates will have to pay an application fee which can be paid through net banking or debit cards or credit cards. Details of the application fee are as follows:
  • PDCC and fellowship courses: Rs.5000/-
  • PGCC courses: Rs.2500/-
  • Ph.D. and Certificate Courses: Rs.1000/-

Admission Procedure

Selection of the candidates will be done based on all India entrance tests to be conducted for Ph.D./PDCC/PGCC/ Certificate Courses and Fellowship. The entrance test will be followed by Department Assessment. For NET qualified candidates, a direct interview/departmental assessment will be conducted.

Nowadays there are many big pharmaceutical and research organisations that require qualified people for doing research in new drug formulations and other material research of chemicals for therapeutic use. After completing these courses there is definitely scope for applying in such big companies for making a career in medical research or career as a medical scientist. However, the option of usual career-making in the big hospitals as a specialist doctor is always there after these courses.
