Food Safety & Standards Authority of India Internship Scheme January 2022

Food Safety & Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) is the topmost body safeguarding food safety and compliance to food standards across the country. It is a statutory body established under the Food Safety & Standards Act, 2006 sponsored by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India. FSSAI is calling applications for Internships from highly motivated students under Internship Scheme 2021-22 starting in January 2022.

Duration of Internship

The internship will be available throughout the year. However, the duration of the internship will be up to 03 months, which may be extended to a maximum period of 06 months. The minimum internship period will be one month.

Stipend Details

The candidates who will join the internship of FSSAI will receive a stipend of Rs. 10,000/- (Rupees ten thousand only). Based on the recommendation of the respective Office/Division, the deserving candidates will be selected for a stipend. Selection criteria will be as follows:

Attendance
Assessment by their respective reporting officers
Evaluation of the report by the Committee

Facilities to the Interns

Institute will provide necessary facilities required for the internship such as working space, internet facility and other requirements to the interns. However, interns will have to carry their own laptops.

Further, boarding, lodging and travel expenses are also to be borne by the interns and FSSAI will not provide any such expenses.

Eligibility Criteria

Any national can apply for the internship.
The applicant must be pursuing a full-time Graduate/Post Graduate Degree in Agricultural Science or Biochemistry or Biotechnology or Chemistry or Dairy Technology or Edible Oil Technology or Food Technology or Food Science & Technology or Food & Nutrition or Fruit & Vegetable Technology or Food Safety & Quality Assurance or Horticultural Sciences or Industrial Microbiology or Life Science or Microbiology or Toxicology or Public Health /B.Tech /BE/ Business Administration & Management including policy regulation and related fields/PG Diploma/Degree in Journalism, Mass Communication and Public Relations/B.E./ B.Tech in Computer Science/Information Technology Software Engineering or related Stream/Post Graduate Degree/Diploma in Public Policy Public Administration/Bachelor/Master of Law from a recognized University or Institution. III /IV years students studying in Bachelors' of Food Technology and the like are also eligible.

How to Apply

Students who wish to join an internship at FSSAI can apply online available on the official website of FSSAI. Those who have submitted their application previously also need to apply afresh.

Selection Procedure

The shortlisted candidates will need to submit a short write up or prepare a presentation for the final selection. The list of finally selected students along with the schedule of joining and internship tenure can be checked online on the FSSAI website.

Joining at FSSAI

At the time of joining, Intern will have to submit the following documents:

No Objection Certificate: Interns will have to take a letter from their institute for allowing them to undergo an Internship Program for the period for which he/she is selected and submit at the time of joining.
Character Certificate: A character certificate from the institute authority is to be taken.
Proof of educational qualifications: Educational documents such as mark sheets and certificates whatever are mentioned in the application form would also need to be submitted at the time of joining for internship.

Assignments

Interns will be assigned project work on different aspects of the Food and Nutrition Management Processes and would be attached to one of the several Divisions at FSSAI (HQ)/ ROs/Labs depending on the academic and technical training.

Certificate

At the end of the internship, the candidates will have to prepare and submit a final report and a presentation, which will be reviewed. Upon successful completion of the internship, all the interns will be awarded a completion certificate.
