Introduction
Founded in 1954, Sri Venkateswara University is a state university located in the holy city of Tirupati. The university is associated with the AICTE (All India Council for Technical Education), PCI (Pharmacy Council of India), NCTE (National Council for Teacher Education), and BCI (Bar Council of India). Offering undergraduate courses, postgraduate courses, Ph.D. courses in various subjects, the university is accredited by NAAC with A + grade. The NIRF ranking of this university for the year 2021 is 54 and within the State of Andhra Pradesh, the university is ranked 3 by NIRF. Andhra University and K L University are the 1st and 2nd ranking universities within this state as per NIRF rankings.
Sri Venkateswara University is having all the required research facilities and every year new scholars will be joining for their PhD. This university offers Ph.D. in Arts, Science, Commerce, Engineering and Technolgy subjects. The normal duration of the Ph.D. course is 3 years and the maximum period allowed for completing the course is 5 years. There are very eminent professors in the university across various departments who will guide the students to come out with quality research work. The university is having a very good central library, hostel facility, and placement cell also. A master's degree with a minimum of 55% marks from a recognized institution in the relevant subject is the requirement for attending this test. The university will follow the reservation policy set by the state government from time to time. Ph.D. admission procedure
PhD admissions will be carried out every year. The number of seats in various departments will vary from year to year based on the available vacancies. The admission process will have two stages.
The first stage will be a written test. The students who want to get admitted to the course should attend the written test conducted by the university. The entrance test is called the SVURESET exam. The university will release a notification online and offline also. The students can apply online for attending the written test. After the written test the university will display the rank list on the university website. The candidates can download their rank cards.
The next stage is to get the registration. Only candidates who were allotted a rank should apply for registration. The required application form will be available online on the official website of the university. The student can submit the filled-in application online. Every applicant should pay Rs.1000/- as a registration fee in the form of a DD in favour of Director, DOA, payable at Tirupati drawn on any nationalised bank.
