The admission to the Ph.D. programmes will be as to be based on the UGC Minimum Standards and Procedures for Awards of M. Phil/ Ph.D. Degree Regulations, 2016 dated 05.05.2016 as published in the Gazette of India dated 05/07/2016.

Eligibility Criteria

1. The candidate must fulfil the following admission criteria:
   The candidate must hold a Master's degree or an equivalent professional degree, with at least 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade 'B' in the UGC 7-point scale or an equivalent degree from a foreign educational Institution accredited and approved by an Assessment and Accreditation Agency.
2. Candidates with M.Phil. degree with at least 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade 'B' in the UGC 7-point scale on M.Phil. course work. Relaxation of marks in minimum eligibility shall be given as per UGC Regulation, 2016.
3. Candidates holding a Degree equivalent to M.Phil. Degree of an Indian Institution, from a Foreign Educational Institution accredited by an Assessment and Accreditation and approved Agency, shall be eligible for admission to Ph.D programme.

Application fee payment

Fees for Ph.D. Programme

• Registration Fee: Rs.25,000/-, It is to be paid one time at the time of registration.
• Course Work Fee: Rs.35,000/-, The course fee is to be paid one time at the time of registration. No course fee for faculty and staff member of MREI.
• Semester fee/Research Fee: Rs.35,000/-, Research fee is to be paid while registering and at the beginning of every semester. However, no research fee for the faculty and staff of MREI joining the Ph.D. program on the condition that they will serve the university at least for 3 years after completion of Ph.D.
• Thesis Evaluation Fee: Rs.35,000/-, One time thesis evaluation fee is to be paid at the time of thesis submission.

Admission Procedure

• Section A – Research Methodology and Aptitude (Logical Reasoning, Analytical Reasoning, Numerical Ability, Statistics) -50% weightage
• Section B – Subject Specific -50% weightage
