Sharda University, Greater Noida has released an official notification and invited online applications from eligible candidates for admissions to Ph.D. program (full-time and part-time) for the session starting from January 2022. These admissions will be done on the available seats and will be made strictly according to the merit in the entrance test followed by an interview. Eligible students who will be selected in the program (Full-time) may receive fellowship as per Sharda University rules.

Eligibility Requirements
The candidate who wishes to get admission to Ph.D. programmes of Sharda University must fulfil the following eligibility criteria:
A candidate must have a minimum post-graduate degree (two years) or equivalent degree in any relevant discipline from a UGC recognized Indian or foreign university.
They must have obtained a minimum of 55% marks or equivalent CGPA in PG degree. There will be given a relaxation of 5% in the score for SC/ST/OBC candidates (minimum of 50%) in PG degree or equivalent CGPA.
They must have cleared the online Entrance Examination of Sharda University followed by an interview.
The candidates who have qualified for any national level test such as NET or GATE or SET etc. are exempted from the entrance test but they will have to appear in the interview.
The candidates with M.Phil. degrees from UGC accredited universities are also exempted from the entrance test but have to appear in the interview.
How to Apply
Application form for admission in Ph.D. programmes can be filled through a 4-step procedure - Step 1 The candidate must visit the official website of Sharda University and fill the application form online.
Step 2 The programme and/or specialization is to be confirmed and system ID and password are to be generated.
Step 3 The candidates need to fill in the complete educational and additional details (if any) in the online application form. A recent photograph and scanned copies of relevant documents are to be uploaded.
Step 4 The payment of the Application Fee i.e. INR 1500 is then to be made online or through demand draft in favour of Sharda University payable at Greater Noida. Note:After submission of the application form, an 'Application Number' will be received on the candidate's registered e-mail ID and mobile number. It must be saved carefully for future use.
Selection Procedure
The selection of the candidates in Ph.D. programmes will be through an entrance test and interviews. The online Entrance test will have Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) (a total of 70 in nos.) that will include 50 questions from the core subject and 20 questions from research aptitude to evaluate the candidate's knowledge in the subject. Each question will carry 01 mark and in total 70 marks. The entrance test will be followed by an interview. Total marks for the interview will be 30. The candidate's performance in the entrance test and interview will be evaluated which leads to the final selection. The candidates who are exempted from the written test will be evaluated based on the interview (100 marks). Note: Syllabi for the entrance test will be of PG level in respective disciplines/subjects.
