Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), New Delhi has released an official notification for admission to Ph.D. programme in various disciplines. The last date of submission of the application form is again extended. Eligible candidates can still apply for the Ph.D. courses of IGNOU and register themselves on the website of IGNOU.Highlights of IGNOU Ph.D. Programme
Ph.D. program duration is three years which can be completed in a maximum of five years duration. There is no minimum and maximum age limit for admission to the Ph.D. program of IGNOU. IGNOU offers several specializations in Ph.D. programmes Such as Biochemistry, Chemistry, Geography, Geology, Gender Development Studies, French, Journalism, Life Sciences, Mass Communication, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Vocational Studies, Women Studies etc. Students who wish to apply for the Ph.D. programs offered by IGNOU must fulfil the eligibility criteria i.e. a Master's degree or M.Phil degree from a recognized university/institute approved by UGC and must have secured at least 55% marks (for general category candidates). Depending upon the course and research area in various disciplines of the Ph.D. program, the course fee is different. However, the course fee is fairly affordable. Students can check the course fee on the official website of the IGNOU.How to Apply for IGNOU Ph.D. Entrance Exam
Admission to Ph.D. program will be made through the Entrance Exam conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). The entrance exam will be conducted in an online mode. To appear in the entrance examination, the candidates must register themselves online following IGNOU Ph.D. Entrance admission process. For this, they must visit the official website of IGNOU. The candidates fulfilling the eligibility criteria may register themselves for the entrance exam. After login, they must choose the relevant application form for the selected course and course ID and fill the application form online and provide correct details. Relevant documents must be uploaded along with the application form fee. The candidate must note that the correction window to make changes in the already filled application form will be open for a limited period. In this period, they can check their submitted form and can make corrections. However, no second chance to modify the mistakes will be given for correction hence extra care needs to be taken while submitting the application form.Application Fee

IGNOU offers admission to the Ph.D. program based on the percentage of post-graduation courses along with an entrance test and interview. Students need to appear in the entrance test followed by an interview. The candidate must clear the entrance exam to confirm his/her seat in the Ph.D. program. The entrance examination will be online and the duration will be 3 hours. It will be held from 10:00 AM to 01:00 PM. The question paper will be of a total of 400 marks and the language of the question paper will be Hindi/English. Once the registration for the entrance examination will be completed, the admit cards will be uploaded to the university website and can be downloaded from there. For shortlisting of the candidates, a merit list of the successful candidates in the entrance examination will be prepared. Only selected students will be called for the interview round conducted by the university.Key Dates
