IIM-Calcutta (IIM-C), IIT Kharagpur (IIT-KGP), and ISI, Kolkata have jointly announced the schedule for admission to the prestigious Post Graduate Diploma in Business Analytics (PGDBA) program for the academic session 2022-24. The learning modules of the in-depth course are taught by the best of the best faculty of three highly reputed institutes, it is a no-brainer to apply for this course for those who love mathematics and analytical data-crunching. All those who wish to join the course must appear for the PGDBA-2022 entrance exam, and the scores will determine whether or not you have been shortlisted for the Personal Interview (PI). Academic background and work experience will also be given due consideration in addition to the scores of this test.

If you are in your final year of the qualifying exam, then also you can apply for admission to PGDBA. However, in that case, you must appear in the final exam and complete other academic requirements as required latest by 31st July 2022. In the meanwhile, you may be given provisional admission subject to submission of the final mark sheet latest by 31st December 2022.
About the PGDBA program
The full-time program with 63 seats incorporates academic studies at the Indian Institute of Management Calcutta, the Indian Statistical Institute, and the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur. You will study at each of these institutes for six months for the duration of the two-year program.
The program schedule will thus be as follows-
The orientation program at IIM-C will be followed by the pre-semester module there, which will include learning contemporary business analytics, financial and marketing management, organizational behaviour, etc.
Semester-I is at ISI Kolkata, where you will learn about statistical structures in data, fundamentals of data systems, etc.
Semester-II is at IIT-KGP, where the learning module includes foundations of algorithm design and machine learning, time series models, etc as well as three Electives.
Semester-III is back at IIM-C covers the data mining and economic aspects of business, HR management, etc and four Electives.
Internship will be in the fourth and final semester.
In addition to the classroom sessions, you will get the opportunity to get direct training in an organization that is related to the field through the mandatory internship-based project of six months and interactions with experts in the industry. The qualifying degree will be jointly awarded by the three institutes at a convocation ceremony at any of the institutes.
You may pursue research work and also avail of campus placement opportunities provided by the institutes on completing the program. The job scope is not limited literally to the field of technology companies alone, with employment available in public and private sector companies that are into healthcare, consumer goods, e-commerce, etc.
Course fee
The total fee of PGDBA is Rs. 24 lakhs, which can be paid in four equal instalments when registering for each semester. This fee includes accommodation on campus, tuition fees, charges towards using labs, exams and study materials, etc. However, it does not cover food expenses and any travel expenses for visiting an industrial location in the fourth semester. You must have a Graduate or a Postgraduate degree through a recognized academic system either of 10+2+4 or 10+2+5 or 10+2+3+2. You are also required to have a minimum of 60% marks or a CGPA of 6.5 on a 10-point scale in the qualifying degree. The qualifying degree can be B.Tech. or B.E. or M.Sc. or M.Com. or any equivalent one. Those with a one-year MBA qualification are not eligible to apply.
Other acceptable qualifications-
An Engineering Diploma in a 10+3 system + 3 (lateral entry into B.E./B.Tech.) with a minimum of 60% marks or CGPA 6.5 on a 10-point scale in the qualifying degree, namely, B.E. or B.Tech.
or
A B.Sc. in a 10+2+4 system with a minimum of 60% marks or CGPA 6.5 on a 10-point scale in the B.Sc. qualifying exam.
Or
A B.Com. as well as a CA with a minimum of 60% marks (Intermediate and Final exams of the CA considered together).
Note that in the case of those candidates who are applying in the categories of SC or ST or Person with Disabilities (PwD), the minimum marks required in the qualifying exams is 55% or CGPA 6.0 on a 10-point scale. PGDBA entrance test 2022
The three-hour computer-based test for shortlisting candidates for admission to the PGDBA program has 50 Multiple Choice Question (MCQ) questions with a total of 150 marks. Three marks will be awarded for a correct answer, -1 will be given for an incorrect answer, and zero for a question that has not been attempted at all. The breakup of the MCQs is as follows-
Verbal Ability – 15 questions.
Logical Reasoning – 5 questions.
Data Interpretation and Data Visualization – 5 questions.
Quantitative Aptitude – 25 questions.

You must apply for admission in online mode at the official application portal- https://gateoffice.iitkgp.ac.in/pgdba2022 and upload the relevant self-attested documents. You are also required to make the online payment of the application fee of Rs.2500/- (Rs.1250/- for SC/ST/PwD category candidates).
The documents to be uploaded during the online application process include scanned copies of academic mark sheets/certificates, the relevant certificate if applying in a reserved category, a recent passport size photo, a scanned copy of your signature, scanned copies of work experience (if any), etc. Please read the instructions on the acceptable size of each document to be uploaded.Important Dates
The online applications for admission to the PGDBA program begin on 20th January 2022.
The last date to submit the online applications is 15th February 2022.
The entrance test for admissions is scheduled for 27th March 2022.
Short-listed candidates will appear for a Personal Interview in May 2022.
