ISB - A top business school in India

Indian School of Business (ISB) is one of the leading business schools in India. Privately owned, it has its main campus located in Hyderabad near Gachibowli, a prime location for the tech industry in the city of pearls. It has a second campus in Mohali, Punjab. About the programme

The Advanced Management Programme in Business Analytics (AMBPA) has a blended learning format. The classes for the programme are held online through a technology-aided learning platform and physically at the institute campus for five days, every alternate month. The format of the programme is such that one can continue with his or her work without much interference and is thus very much suitable for working professionals stationed anywhere in India.

The duration of the programme is 15 months + Pre-Term. After the end of 12 months of online and classroom learning, the participants are sent for an industry-sponsored 3-months long Capstone Project. The industry exposure is very much useful as it provides the participants with a valuable opportunity to apply their classroom learning and solve real-world business problems on their own. Some of the top organisations, where past participants have got exposure to real-world businesses are Walmart, Ford Motors, Capgemini, Airtel, Accenture, Infosys, Microsoft, Ashok Leyland, Franklin Templeton, Vodafone and a lot more.



Programme keypoints

The programme consists of six terms, each of which is 6-8 weeks in duration. The foundation term, which focuses on topics such as Data Management, Probability, Statistics and Programming in R and Python prepares the participants for the rigours of the programme. Before every term, the participants are provided learning resources in the form of books, articles and case studies. It is expected of every participant that they go through the study materials by devoting at least 8-10 hours a week. Precourse projects and online assignments are also assigned. Every alternate month the participants will have to come and stay either at the Hyderabad or Mohali campus to attend physical classes for five days. The classes will be day-long and also include co-curricular activities that are conducted during the evening hours.

Programme costs and other fees

  • Programme fee: INR 10,15,000 + 18% GST
  • AMP Alumni Fee: INR 15,000 + 18% GST
  • Refundable Security Deposit: INR 10,000

An application fee of INR 2,000 is to be paid during the application process. The programme fee consists of admission charges, tuition fees and course material costs. It also includes complimentary lodging and boarding during the on-campus stay, every alternate month.

The candidates have to pay an amount of INR 101,500 towards admission and preterm fees within 15 days from receipt of the admission offer. The link for payment of fees and the schedule will be sent along with the admission offer.



Finance options

Considering that the programme is a costly one, a few financing options are provided to every particpant. These are

Instalment options are also provided. Those in need can contact the ISB Learning Team for the same. Participants can also get sponsored by their respective organisations. In such cases, a letter of support from the employer needs to be submitted along with the application form.

Eligibility

  1. The aspirants should have at least a bachelors or master degree in engineering, technology, mathematics, science or statistics. Exposure to mathematics or programming is essential.
  2. Should have at least 2 years of work experience post-qualification. Those with a master degree but without any work experience can also apply.


Admission process

The application for the AMPBA programme is to be done by filling out an online application form at the Advanced Management Programme page on the ISB website. The candidates have to upload a resume, a colour passport size photograph and the last two months payslips. On successful submission, an acknowledgement will be generated containing the application number, which can be referred to in case of any queries anytime during the admission process.

Selection process

The candidates have to appear for an entrance exam conducted by ISB. The test is conducted online. Those with CAT / GMAT / GRE/ NMAT scores can submit them along with the online admission test result. Based on the test results, candidates will be called for an interview, which could be either in person, through video/teleconference or any internet-based platform.

Their past academic performance and achievements in the professional field are equally important.
