National Law University Delhi online admissions through AILET 2022

National Law University (NLU), Delhi has announced online admissions open to B.A.LL.B.(Hons.), LL.M. and Ph.D programs for the academic year 2022-23. Admission to all these programs will be only through the national level All India Law Entrance Test (AILET)-2022 conducted by NLU, Delhi.

There are seats for all the programs for reserved categories, but not for NRI candidates. Foreign nationals or OCI/PIO candidates do not have to appear for the AILET-2022 provided they fulfil the requirements of application through these categories. There is no maximum and minimum age limit for appearing in the AILET 2022.
About NLU Delhi B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) program
There are 123 seats available for this five-year course for which the fee is Rs. 85,000/- p.a. (mess fee is extra).
Eligibility criteria: You should have passed the Senior Secondary School exam (10+2) or an equivalent exam with a minimum of 45% marks (40% is the criteria for SC/ST/Persons with Disabilities). You can also apply if you are appearing for the Class 12 exam this year. Foreign Nationals/OCI/PIO are should have scored at least 65% in the qualifying exam.About NLU Delhi LL.M. program
There are 81 seats available for this one-year course for which the fee is Rs. 1,00,000/- p.a.
Eligibility criteria: You should have an LL.B. or an equivalent law degree with a minimum of 50% marks (45% is the criteria for SC/ST/ Persons with Disabilities). You can also apply if you are appearing for the final year LL.B. annual exam this year.About NLU Delhi Ph.D programs
There are 20 seats available, with a possibility of an increase in the case of faculty of NLU, Delhi also registering. The fee is Rs. 50,000/-.
Eligibility criteria: You should have an LL.M. or an equivalent law degree with a minimum of 55% marks (50% is the criteria for SC/ST/ Persons with Disabilities).Additional notes
A few things apply to all the programs-
Other law entrance exams: Admission to any of the NLU, Delhi programs will not be given through CLAT or LSAT.
Entrance fee: The online application fee for AILET-2022 for all the courses is Rs.3,050/- for candidates appearing in the General category as well as OBC and EWS categories, and for foreign nationals, Kashmiri migrants/residents of Jammu & Kashmir. SC, ST, and Persons with Disability (PwD) have to pay a fee of Rs.1,050/-. SC and ST candidates who are applying in the category of Below Poverty Line (BPL) do not have to pay any entrance fee.
Course fee: Candidates from SAARC countries and those from non-SAARC countries should check the official website to know the course fee that is applicable for them.
Hostel facilities: Hostel rooms are limited at NLU, Delhi. Hence, hostel accommodation on the campus is not available to newly admitted students of the B.A.LL.B.(Hons.) program from Delhi/NCR, but those from outside Delhi/ NCR may be considered based on the availability of hostel rooms. As mentioned earlier, admissions to any of the three law programs for the academic session starting in 2022 at NLU, Delhi will be based on the scores of the All India Law Entrance Test (AILET), which will be conducted in offline mode on OMR sheets.
The syllabus of the entrance test for each specific program is as follows-
The AILET-2022 for B.A.LL.B (Hons.) program: The duration of the exam is 90 minutes with a total of 150 marks. There are 150 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) in three sections, namely English Language (50 questions with 50 marks); Current Affairs & General Knowledge (30 questions with 30 marks); and Logical Reasoning (70 questions with 70 marks). A correct answer will be awarded one mark, while 0.25 marks will be deducted for each incorrect answer.
The AILET 2022 for LL.M. program: The duration of the exam is 90 minutes with a total of 150 marks. There are two sections. The first section has 100 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) split into two parts - English language (50 questions with 50 marks), and Legal reasoning (50 questions with 50 marks). In this section, a correct answer will be awarded one mark, while 0.25 marks will be deducted for each incorrect answer. The second section has about 8 to 10 descriptive questions from different branches of law, and you have to answer any two (each carries 25 marks).
The AILET-2022 for Ph.D programs: The questions will be related to (i) Research Methodology as well as (ii) different areas of law, with 50% assigned to each. You need to get at least 50% marks (45% for SC/ST/PWD candidates) in the entrance test to qualify for the second stage. This stage includes an evaluation of research proposals followed by an interview/ viva-voce.AILET-2022 Application procedure
You have to register online and submit an application to appear for AILET-2022 at the official NLU Delhi admissions portal and upload the required scanned documents. The list of documents are-Selecting the Test center
During the online application procedure, you can select up to three preferences for the Test city for appearing for AILET-2022. However, note that due to administrative or technical reasons, you may be allotted another test center.
The test cities are Bengaluru, Bhopal, Chandigarh, Chennai, Cochin, Cuttack, Dehradun, Delhi, Gandhinagar, Greater Noida, Gurugram, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Jammu, Jodhpur, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, Patna, Raipur, Varanasi, and Visakhapatnam (check the official website for updates on the cities as this list may change).Important dates

The Admit Card will be available online for download on the AILET website from 21st April 2022.

For admission to B.A.LL.B.(Hons.): The marks statement of Class 10 and Class 12.
For admission to LL.M.: the marks statement of B.A.LL.B./ LL.B. or equivalent, and Class 10 and Class 12.
For admission to Ph.D.: The marks statement of LL.M or any other qualifying exam, the marks statement of B.A.LL.B./LL.B. or equivalent, and of Class 10 and Class 12.
