SRMJEEE application procedure for admission to B.Tech programmes 2022

About SRM Institute of Science & Technology
Founded in 1985, the SRM Institute of Science & Technology (SRM IST) is a deemed university in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. Known earlier as SRM University, the institute has over the years set up campuses at three more locations in Tamil Nadu, two in Chennai and one at Trichy. The institute also has campuses in Delhi-NCR, Andhra Pradesh, Haryana and Sikkim. The institute offers both undergraduate and postgraduate courses along with a wide range of disciplines. There are courses on engineering, medicine, management, law, science and humanities. SRM IST also offers avenues for research on diverse subjects.

For admission to its B.Tech programmes, SRM Institute of Science & Technology conducts its admission test that goes by the name SRM Joint Engineering Entrance Examination, short-form SRMJEEE. The admission test is an online computer-based test that is conducted remotely proctored in several phases. SRMJEEE 2022 is being conducted in three phases as given below. Candidates may apply for one or more phases and also have the option of choosing the dates, as shown below.

Online counselling is done after each phase of the exam. Students are allocated programs based on the ranks they obtain in the test. Payment of fees and booking of seats is to be done soon after the program allocation. The various branches of engineering available at its various campuses are, Bio-engineering, Biotechnology, Chemical, Material Science, Computer Science, Electrical & Electronics, Civil, Mechanical, Architecture and Interior Design.
Test pattern
The questions asked in the test are of the MCQ type. The test paper has five sections - physics, chemistry, mathematics/biology, English and general aptitude. Those opting for the Biotechnology or Bio-engineering courses can opt for the biology subject. The test is held remotely proctored, and the candidates will be able to appear for it from the comforts of their home or any other location of their choice. The test will be of three hours duration. A mock test will be held before the main tests to familiarize the candidates with the remotely proctored test. A good internet connection and a computer or laptop with adequate capacity will be necessary to appear for the test.Eligibility
The eligibility criteria for the various programs may differ from campus to campus. However, the criteria for admission to the B.Tech programs at Kattankulathur main campus are as follows.Application fees
The application fee for appearing for the SRMJEEE is Rs 1200. For appearing for more than one phase, an additional fee of Rs 600 per phase is to be paid. An applicant who desires of appearing for all three phases of the SRMJEE has to pay a combined fee of Rs 2400.
The payment of fees can be done through net banking, credit/debit card, UPI or e-wallet. Those not having facilities for online payment can send a demand draft of the required value along with a downloaded copy of the filled application form to the Directorate of Admissions, SRM Institute of Technology, Chennai. The DD has to be drawn in favour of SRMIST, payable at Chennai. The candidate's name and address are to be written on the backside of the DD. How to apply
Application for the SRMJEEE has to be done online. Applicants to first visit the official website of SRM Institute of Science & Technology and register themselves by providing an Email ID. All correspondences till the time of enrolment will be done through email. Hence an Email ID, which will remain valid at least till enrolment should be submitted. Once submitted, no changes will be permitted.
After registering, the applicants have to fill up an online application form and submit scanned documents, including a passport-sized photograph and signature. The photograph and the signature should be less than 200 KB in size. On successful submission of the online application, an application number will be generated that can be used by the candidate for future reference.
