AME CET 2022 Exam for admission to aviation courses in India

About AME CET

AME CET is an all-India basis common entrance test for admission to courses related to the aviation industry. It stands for Aircraft Maintenance Engineering Common Entrance Test and is conducted by Udai Aviation Pvt. Ltd., an organisation that is solely into conducting entrance tests for aviation institutes. Through its entrance test, it provides DGCA approved aviation institutes in India a common platform for admitting students to their aviation-related courses.

The various courses for which a student can seek admission through AME CET are license, engineering, graduation, diploma and certification courses, the details of which are given below.

  • License courses - Pilot, AME

  • Engineering / Diploma courses - AME, Aeronautical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering

  • Graduation courses - BBA in Aviation, BBA in Airport Management, B.Sc. Aeronautical Science, B.Sc. in AME, B.Sc. in Aviation

  • Certification courses - Cabin Crew, Airport Management, Ground Staff

The Pilot license courses are approved by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), whereas for AME license, both DGCA approved as well as European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) approved courses are available. Engineering and diploma courses are approved by the AICTE and the graduation courses are UGC approved.

AME CET 2022 - important dates


  • Online/offline application started from - 20 September 2021

  • Last date for submitting application - 31 March 2022

  • Admit card can be downloaded from - 1st week of June 2022

  • AME CET 2022 exam date - 2nd week of June 2022

  • Results to be declared on - 3rd week of June 2022

  • Admission counselling to begin from - 4th week of June 2022

Test details

AME CET is conducted online as well as offline. The test is held at 43 test centres across India on the same day. The list of all such centres is given on the AME CET website. The test is of one and a half hours in duration. There will be 90 multiple choice type questions (MCQs), each of four marks. For incorrect answers, there will be negative marking. For each wrong answer, one mark will be deducted. The question paper will be available in both Hindi and English languages. The question papers will be different for different categories of courses. For courses that require class 12 pass with PCM, questions will be asked on physics, chemistry, math, English and general awareness. For the rest of the categories, the questions will be from English, general awareness and reasoning.

Eligibility for AME CET

Categorywise eligibility criteria is as follows.

  1. License courses - 12th pass with physics, chemistry and mathematics. For EASA approved Aircraft Maintenance Engineering courses, 10th pass is enough.

  2. Engineering courses - 12th pass with physics, chemistry, mathematics/biology

  3. Graduation courses - For BBA courses, 12th pass in any stream and for B.Sc courses physics, chemistry and mathematics

  4. Diploma courses - 10th pass is sufficient

  5. Certification courses - 12th pass in any stream

For all category of courses, the age of the candidate, at the time of admission, should not be less than 14 years and not more than 28 years. A candidate gets a maximum of three chances to appear for AME CET.

How to register

There are two modes of registering for the AME CET - online as well as offline. For the online mode, the candidates will have to visit the official website of AME CET and register by providing their mobile number and email id. After registering, they will have to fill out an online application form, where they have to submit the necessary information along with a scanned image of their passport photograph. The candidates will also have to pay the registration cum examination fee. On successful submission of form and payment of fee, the candidates will receive their registration number on their registered mobile number and email id. This number will be used for all future correspondence between the candidate and the exam conducting body.

For offline mode, the candidates will have to visit the nearest AME CET approved centre. They need to purchase the registration form by paying the requisite registration fee. After filling out the form, it has to be sent to the corporate office of AME CET in New Delhi. On receipt of the form by the corporate office, the registration number will be sent to the candidate through SMS as well by Email.

Registration/Examination fees


  1. General and OBC (Male candidates) - Rs 1200

  2. SC/ST and female candidates from all categories - Rs 1000

Those who submit the online application form are to pay the fee online through debit/credit card, internet banking or e-payment through GPay, Paytm, etc. Service charges will be applicable while paying through credit/debit card or internet banking. Those submitting the form offline have to pay the fee at the time of purchasing the registration form from an authorised centre of AME CET.

AME CET scholarships

Udai Aviation, which conducts the AME CET exam, awards scholarships to meritorious students. Board toppers and those obtaining the top five ranks in AME CET are given 100% scholarship in tuition fees up to the amount of Rs two lakh. Others, who qualify the exam, based on their ranks are given scholarships to the tune of Rs 20 thousand to 1.5 lakh. The scholarships are, however, limited to the first-semester tuition fees only.
