Indian Institute of Technology, Gandhinagar is a public engineering institute located in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, India. It has been announced as an Institute of National Importance by the Government of India. It is one of the eight Indian Institutes of Technology established in 2008 by the Ministry of Human Resource Development. IITG offers undergraduate, graduate education, and Ph.D. programs in various disciplines. The IIT Gandhi Nagar is offering Ph.D. in the following research areas:Eligibility Criteria
Candidate must have minimum of 55% marks or 5.5 CPI marks in M.A./M.Sc./B.Tech./M.Tech./BS (IISc, IISER)/BS-MS (IISER) or equivalent degree in respective discipline. They must have qualified for any one national level test such as CSIR-UGC or UGC-NET-JRF or GATE or any other equivalent exam.Ph.D. Admission Categories
At IIT Gandhi Nagar, Ph.D. has been categorized into two groups:
Regular Research(RR): In this category, the candidates who are interested to join the Ph.D. program will be full-time research candidates and will have to stay at the campus.
Continuing Doctoral Programme (CDP): In this category, those candidates who are employees, can apply to this category. In the CDP program initially, the candidate has to fulfil the residency requirement of 90 days in the first year. Admission will be confirmed only after the successful completion of the first year. After that, he/she has to complete a course work of two years and will have to stay at the campus during this period, and thereafter he/she will be allowed to go back to the parent organization for further thesis work.Financial Assistance
Students who will be joining as regulars (RR) in the Ph.D. program will be considered for Institute Fellowship based on the norms, as mentioned. The students who have the below-mentioned qualification will be paid Rs. 31,000 monthly-
Post Graduate Degree in Basic Science+ NET/GATE or B.Tech/BE+ NET/GATEorM.Tech/ME.
The candidates who will possess research experience of two or more years in addition to these qualifications will be eligible to receive a monthly fellowship of Rs 35,000/-.

Interested candidates must visit the IIT Gandhi Nagar official website and read the instructions carefully before submitting their application through the online application portal. For registration, candidates need to provide their full name, date of birth, email address, mobile number. After registration, the candidate must log in using login credentials to fill out the online application form.
Before filling out the application form, the candidate must pay the application fee online via SBI Collect. Application fees: Rs. 100/- for (SC/ST/PD Category) and Rs. 200/- (Others). Candidates must note that only the online application will be accepted, and hence, no need to send a hard copy of the application form to the institute. All the required details must be filled in the application form carefully and the complete application must be submitted along with the required self-attested documents. An acknowledgment email with an application number will be sent to the candidate's registered email ID upon successful submission of the online application. Selection Procedure
Admission of the candidates to the Ph.D. programs will be done based on their performance in the written test conducted by Institute. The written test will be conducted through online mode only. The date and time of the written test will be shared with the candidates separately.
The candidates who will qualify written test will be called for an interview. Only a limited number of candidates will be called for written tests or interviews based on their academic records and other documents submitted with the application such as a statement of purpose etc. The final selection of the candidates will be based on academic credentials, written tests, and/or interviews. Relaxations to the SC/ST/PD candidates will be given as per the reservation policy of GoI.Important dates
