About UGEE UGEE stands for Undergraduate Entrance Examination. The exam is conducted by IIIT Hyderabad for admission to its 5-year dual degree programmes. Students graduating after undertaking these programmes are awarded a B.Tech as well as an MS by Research degree. For the MS part, it is essential for the students to successfully undertake research and complete a thesis on it. The dual degree programmes are available in the field of Computer Science and Electronics & Communication Engineering as given below.

Eligibility The candidate should have a 10+2 or equivalent qualification from a recognised board with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as the compulsory subjects.
Selection process Candidates are selected through the UGEE channel in a two-stage process. The candidates first appear for a computer-based test that is conducted by the institute itself and those qualifying the same are shortlisted for an interview. The final selection of the candidates is done solely based on the performance of the candidates in the interview.
Computer-based test The computer-based test has two sections.
The total marks for the test are 150. The questions in SUPR are of multiple choice type, whereas in REAP, apart from multiple choice type, some of the questions will be without options, but have greater weightage in terms of marks. Most of the questions in both the sections will be on maths and physics. Whatever questions are asked in chemistry, like math and physics, will also be calculation-based. Sample questions for both SUPR and REAP are available on the IIIT Hyderabad website along with a Mock Test for familiarizing the candidates with the format of the tests.
How to apply The application for the UGEE has to be done online. Aspiring candidates to first visit the official website of IIIT Hyderabad and register themselves. They can then log on to the application portal and submit the online application form within the due dates as given above.
