About IIIT Hyderabad, India

DASA or Direct Admission for Students Abroad is an admission mode for the following two categories of students.
  1. Students, irrespective of their nationality, have done 10+2 abroad, or
  2. Anyone, who is a foreign passport holder, irrespective of where he/she has done 10+2, whether India or abroad

Programmes offered

Following are the single and dual degree programmes offered to students under the DASA mode of admission.

Single degree programmes
  • B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) - 25 seats

  • B.Tech in Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) - 10 seats

Dual degree programmes (Two seats in each programme)
  • B.Tech in Computer Science and MS by Research in Computational Linguistics (CLD)

  • B.Tech in Computer Science and MS by Research in Computational Natural Sciences (CND)

  • B.Tech in Computer Science and MS by Research in Computing and Human Sciences (CHD)

Eligibility

For admission to its undergraduate programmes through the DASA mode of admission, the institute attaches importance to the SAT Test scores. Out of a maximum of 1600, the aggregate score should be at least 1070. The SAT scores obtained by the students are to be directly reported to IIIT Hyderabad by the concerned school/college board. For 2022 admissions, the scores are to be reported by 22 May 2022. Candidates to note that SAT tests written earlier than May 2020 won't be valid. The candidate should have compulsorily studied physics, chemistry and math in class XI and XII.

Important dates

  • Application window closes on - 22 May 2022, 5 pm IST

  • SAT scores to be reported by school/college board – 22 May 2022

Selection process

The candidates will be selected for the undergraduate programmes through their SAT score. Higher the score, more likely is the chance of getting selected. In case of tie in SAT score, the scores obtained in Evidence based Reading & Writing and Math will be used to resolve the tie. In case the tie persists, the concerned students will be given the same rank.

How to apply

To apply for admission through the DASA mode, eligible candidates to visit the official website of IIIT Hyderabad. After registering, they need to fill an online application form and pay the necessary application fee.

Since there are both single and dual degree programmes for the candidates to opt for, the programmes are to be chosen as per the academic interest of the candidate. The programmes will be allocated based on the candidate's SAT score and the choices given by him/her. The candidates are to upload the final results for classes XI and XII as and when they are available, showing marks obtained in physics, chemistry and mathematics.

An application fee of INR 6,000 is to be paid online while submitting the application form. The fee is non-refundable.



Tuition fees

The tuition fee for students registering through the DASA mode is USD 14,000 per year for the academic year 2022-23. Additionally, hostel and mess fees will be charged from the students, which will be at par with other students. On allotment of seat, the candidates have to pay an acceptance fee of USD 7,000 as first semester fees and thus confirm the seat. The payment has to be done online, details of which will be emailed to the candidates as and when the seats are allocated.
