How to apply online for Government Scholarships in India

The government of India offers various schemes and scholarships to students across India. In this Internet era, almost all eligible candidates can apply online for it on time to get Scholarship benefits from Government sources for current and future study. While a few of the students are applying online, few of them are applying offline like through their school's management, but many do not even know how to apply for them despite they are eligible for it.



However, before going to apply online, cross-check the following documents for eligiblility requirements, and then apply them.

Important credentials to apply scholarship online

1. Student's Educational certificates


2. Applicant's or Parents (for Minor) Bank account number and IFSC code of the bank branch


3. Candidate's Aadhaar number


4. If Aadhaar is not available, then Bonafide student certificate from Institute / School and


5. Aadhaar Enrolment ID and Scanned copy of Bank passbook


6. If School is different from domicile state of the student, then Bonafide certificate from Institute / School.

How to apply for a Govt. scholarship online

1. Visit the Govt. official website


2. On the top left, click on 'New Registration' button.


3. Check all the details and click on three 'check' buttons at the bottom left of the page, and, click 'Continue' (green color) button to move next page [see the above image]. Now follow the steps given below;


4. Select the right option from each fields and enter the correct name with other details (including mobile number and bank account etc.) in the next fields.


5. Once you filled all the fields then enter the Captcha code shown in the last field to go again to check the box thrice [to accept the terms and condition].


6. Click on "Register" button to get registered and move to next column and follow the simple guideline.
