T.A.Pai Management and Institute (TAPMI) is a private autonomous institute in India established in 1980 in the university town of Manipal in Karnataka. It is the fifth management institute in India with dual accreditation from the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) and the Association of MBAs (AMBA). It was ranked 35 among business schools in India by the National Institutional Ranking Framework in 2021. It offers different programs in management such as diploma, postgraduate and doctoral programs. The Ph.D. program is a four-year research program.

Eligibility criteria

Candidate should have a master's degree in Management or related subjects as the area of interest, with minimum of 60% marks from an institution/university recognized by UGC.

Financial assistance

There are a limited number of scholarships to qualified doctoral students for a maximum of four years. The Ph.D. scholars who will join the full-time Ph.D. program will be eligible to receive a fellowship of Rs. 35,000 per month for the first two years and Rs. 40,000 for the next two years.

Program duration and course work

The full-time doctoral program will take at least four years to complete and includes one year of coursework. Doctoral-level courses include research Methodology, Research and Publication Ethics, Quantitative Methods of Research, Pedagogical Issues in Teaching, Research Proposal Writing, and area-specific courses. All have to be completed during the coursework.

Candidates who are desirous to join Ph.D. programme at TAPAI and fulfilling the eligibility criteria must visit the official website of TAPAI . And check the official notification and read the eligibility requirements carefully before applying. They must satisfy the above-mentioned eligibility conditions. To apply online for admission to the Ph.D. program, candidates must register themselves on the application portal of TAPAI. After registration, the application form is to be filled out and the application fee is to be submitted.

Selection Procedure

The selection of the candidates will be based on their performance in the written test and /or interview. Candidates fulfilling the eligibility criteria will be shortlisted and called for a written test and /or interview. Overall good performers will be selected for admission to the Ph.D. program. A list of finally selected candidates will be displayed on the website of the institute.
