National Law University, Delhi B.A.LL.B.(Hons), LL.M. and Ph.D. admissions 2022

National Law University (NLU), Delhi has invited online applications for admissions to B.A.LL.B.(Hons.), LL.M. and Ph.D programs for the academic year 2022-23. National Law University, Delhi (NLUD) is a reputed national law school in India, established in 2008. It offers different courses at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. These law schools are regulated by the Bar Council of India and are under the ownership of the Ministry of Law and Justice, Government of India. The National Law University (NLU), Delhi has announced online admissions to B.A.LL.B.(Hons.) LL.M. and Ph.D programs for the academic year 2022-23. Admission to all these programs will be only through the national level All India Law Entrance Test (AILET)-2022 conducted by NLU, Delhi.

About NLU Delhi B.A.LL.B. (Hons.) program

There are 123 seats available for this five-year course for which the fee is Rs. 85,000/- p.a. (mess fee is extra).

Eligibility criteria: You should have passed the Senior Secondary School exam (10+2) or an equivalent exam with a minimum of 45% marks (40% is the criteria for SC/ST/Persons with Disabilities). You are eligible if you are appearing for the Class 12 exam this year. Foreign Nationals/OCI/PIO also should have scored at least 65% in the qualifying exam.

About NLU Delhi LL.M. program

There are 81 seats available for this one-year course for which the fee is Rs. 1,00,000/- p.a.

Eligibility criteria: You should have an LL.B. or an equivalent law degree with a minimum of 50% marks (45% is the criteria for SC/ST/ Persons with Disabilities). You can also apply if you are appearing for the final year LL.B. annual exam this year.

About NLU Delhi Ph.D programs

There are 20 seats available, with a possibility of an increase in the case of faculty of NLU, Delhi also registering. The fee is Rs. 50,000/-.

Eligibility criteria: You should have an LL.M. or an equivalent law degree with a minimum of 55% marks (50% is the criteria for SC/ST/ Persons with Disabilities).

Test centre

During the online application procedure, you can select up to three preferences for the test city for appearing for AILET-2022. There are different test cities which are as follows:-
The test cities are Bengaluru, Bhopal, Chandigarh, Chennai, Cochin, Cuttack, Dehradun, Delhi, Gandhinagar, Greater Noida, Gurugram, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Jammu, Jodhpur, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, Patna, Raipur, Varanasi, and Visakhapatnam.

Application Procedure

Interested candidates must visit the Official website of the National law university Delhi and read the instructions given in the official notification. To apply online the candidate must submit their application through the online application portal.

For registration, candidates need to provide their full name, date of birth, email address and mobile number. After registration, the candidate must log in using login credentials to fill out the online application form. Application forms can be filled out online by login using login credentials. Before filling out the application form, the candidate must pay the application fee through an online Credit Card/Debit Card/Net Bank. Along with the application form, relevant certificates and documents are required to submit.
The candidates must keep ready the following documents while applying online:
  • Your photo (should not exceed 1MB)
  • Your signature (should not exceed 1MB)
  • BPL certificate issued by the competent authority, if applicable (should not exceed 2 MB)

All the mandatory fields must be filled in carefully before submitting the online application form. After submission of the application form, a printout of the computer-generated form must be saved and a printout can be taken for future reference.

Application fee/Entrance examination Fee

The application form must be submitted with the application. The candidate needs to pay an Entrance examination fee through online payment only before online registration. Application fee/ entrance fee details are as follows:-
For General/OBC/EWS Candidates- Rs.3,050/-
For SC/ST/ PWD candidate- Rs.1,050/-.
For SC/ ST candidates(Below the poverty line)- Nil

Selection procedure

About All India Law Entrance Test (AILET)-2022
As mentioned earlier, admissions to any of the three law programs for the academic session starting in 2022 at NLU, Delhi will be based on the scores of the All India Law Entrance Test (AILET), which will be conducted in offline mode on OMR sheets. There are seats for all the programs for reserved categories, but not for NRI candidates. Foreign nationals or OCI/PIO candidates do not have to appear for the AILET-2022 provided they fulfil the requirements of application through these categories. There is no maximum and minimum age limit for appearing in the AILET 2022.

  • Date of All India Law Entrance Test (AILET): June 26, 2022
