The Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER), Mohali, has invited applications for the Summer Research Program 2022. During this summer research program, students will get an opportunity to work on specific projects with IISER faculty during the summer. In this way, they will get exposure to research methodology, different scientific fields, and the research environment at IISER Mohali. Overall, the programme will help imbibe scientific learning among the students.
Details of the Summer Research Program
Components of the Program: The Summer Research Program 2022 of IISER Mohali has two components, i.e., research and course work. The research will be carried out by the students under the guidance of their supervisor. Course work will involve a series of lectures that will be delivered by eminent scientists working in various fields.
Program Duration: The summer research program will be for a minimum of one month and a maximum of two months (08 weeks) and will run between June 01 and July 27, 2022.
Fellowship: IISER Mohali will not provide financial support/stipend/fellowship for food, travel, etc. The hostel mess facility at IISER Mohali is available to students on a paid basis.
Accommodation: Students in Category C will be provided with free accommodation at IISER Mohali, while other students (in Categories A and B) will be required to pay a nominal fee for accommodation at IISER Mohali.Eligibility Criteria
Students pursuing a B.Sc. (Second Year/Third Year) or M.Sc. (First Year) are eligible to apply for the Summer Research Program.
How to Apply
Desirous candidates must visit the official website of IISER Mohali before applying and read the instructions carefully. Candidates must fill in all the details asked in the online application form correctly.Selection Procedure
The candidates will need to furnish the documents mentioned in the application form for verification before confirmation of selection. Selection of the candidates under the Summer Research Program will be done under three categories:
Category A: This category includes students who have their scholarships from national funding agencies and can support themselves financially while participating in summer research programs.
Category B: Financial support will be provided to some of the students on a competitive basis. The financial support will be granted through SSR-SERB grants to individual faculty members. Eligible candidates must select the names of the faculty members in the application form under this category.
Category C: The rest of the students will be considered in this category.
Report Submission: At the end of the summer research program, students will prepare and submit a report about the research work done during this research program. Upon successful completion of the research program, all students will get a certificate issued by IISER Mohali.
