Gujarat National Law University, Gandhinagar has announced admissions into the Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) program in Law and Allied Subjects. The University offers a Ph.D. degree program in the following disciplines:
The duration of the Ph.D. program is a minimum of 3 years and a maximum of 6 years. Women candidates and Persons with Disability (more than 40% disability) may be allowed for a relaxation of two years for a Ph.D. in the maximum duration.

The applicant for a part-time Ph.D. should prove to Departmental Research Committee (DRC) that his official duties permit him to devote sufficient time to research and ensure that facilities for pursuing research are available at his place of work.Selection procedure
Selection of candidates for admission will be done based on their performance in the Admission test - GNLU Ph.D. Admission Test (GPAT-2022) and PowerPoint Presentation of the proposed research before the Departmental Research Committee (DRC). UGC NET/JRF and MPhil Passed Candidates shall be exempted from the Admission Test. The duration of GPAT-2022 is 120 minutes. It consists of 100 Multiple Choice Questions. It has 2 papers -
Paper-I: Research Methodology & English (50 Questions)
Paper-II: Subject Awareness, Domain Knowledge (50 Questions)
The applicants who secured a 50% score on the entrance test are required to do a presentation on the preliminary research proposal which includes the topic of research, why research on that topic?, proposed research objectives, and Literature Review done (if any), Intended outcome of the research. The duration of this PowerPoint presentation is 15 minutes.Application Process
Interested and eligible candidates are requested to apply online at the official website. Candidates need to pay the non-refundable application fee of Rs. 4000/-. Candidates need to send the hard copy of the filled-in admission form along with relevant certificates to the below address by post latest by 8th June 2022. The cover should be clearly marked as s "Application for Admission to the Ph.D. Programme".
