ISTC

Indo Swiss Training Center (ISTC) is an AICTE-approved autonomous Govt. institute established in the year 1963. ISTC is an integral part of the CSIR-Central Scientific Instruments Organisation (CSIR-CSIO). The Indo-Swiss Training Centre offers good infrastructure and facilities, including labs and workshops, hostels, etc. Indo Swiss Training Center offers diplomas, Advanced Diploma, Post-graduate Diploma, and Short term skill programs.

Admissions 2022

Indo-Swiss Training Centre, Chandigarh has announced admissions for the Academic year 2022-23 to the following Diploma and Advanced Diploma programs conducted at the Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR) - Central Scientific Instruments Organisation (CSIO), Chandigarh-
  • Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (Tool & Die) - 3 years course
  • Diploma in Electronics Engineering - 3 years course
  • Advanced Diploma in Die & Mould Making - 4 years course
  • Advanced Diploma in Mechatronics & Industrial Automation - 4 years course
These diploma and advanced diploma courses are duly approved by AICTE, New Delhi.



Eligibility criteria

Candidates have to fulfill the following eligibility criteria to get admission to the Diploma and Advanced Diploma courses in Indo Swiss Training Center (ISTC)-
  • Candidates who passed Matriculation or equivalent examination from a recognized school or board are eligible to apply.
  • Candidates who appeared in the matriculation examination are also eligible to apply.
  • Candidates born on or after 1st August 2003 (1st August 2000 in the case of SC/ST candidates) are eligible to apply.

Selection procedure

Candidates for admission to Diploma and advanced diploma courses are selected based on their performance in the entrance examination conducted by ISTC. ISTC Entrance exam 2022 consists of 100 multiple-choice questions. Each question has one mark weightage and 25% of the marks will be deducted for each wrong answer. The cut-off marks for ISTC Entrance Exam-2022 to select the candidates for Admission are 25% (for General/EWS category), 22.50% (for OBC category), and 20% (for SC/ST category). This Exam will be conducted in Chandigarh, New Delhi, Patna, Nagpur, and Chennai. This ISTC Entrance exam will be held on 21st August 2022.

Application Process

Interested and eligible candidates are requested to pay the application fee of Rs. 1200/- (for General/OBC/EWS) and Rs 600/- (for SC/ST Candidates) online or offline and then have to apply online at the official website. The last date for submitting an online application is 22-07-2022 up to 11:59 PM. For any doubts regarding payment of the application fee visit the official website.

  • Opening Date for On-Line Application Form: 20th June 2022
  • Closing Date for On-Line Application Form: 22nd July 2022 up to 11.59 pm
  • Tentative Starting Date to print the e-Admit Card for Entrance Exam-2022 from CSIO/ISTC website: 31st July 2022 from 5 pm
  • Date of ISTC Entrance exam - 2022: 21st August 2022 at 9:15 am
  • Date of ISTC Entrance exam - 2022 Result declaration: 29th August 2022
  • Tentative date for ISTC Admission Counseling for Session 2022-23: 8th or 9th September 2022 at 9 am
  • Tentative start date of ISTC Session 2022-23: 12th September 2022
