Prime Minister's Scholarship Scheme (PMSS) for RPF/RPSF was introduced to provide financial aid to the dependent wards and widows (below the rank of Gazetted officer) of Ex/Serving RPF/RPSF personnel to pursue higher technical and professional education. PMSS is offered to dependent wards of RPF/RPSF personnel to complete their professional degree courses including BE, B.Tech, BDS, MBBS (including all medical courses of graduation level), B.Ed., B.Sc., BBS, LLB, BCA, MCA, MBA, B. Pharma, BALLB/BBA LLB, etc.
Eligibility Criteria for PMSS
The applicant must fulfill the following requirements to be eligible for Prime Minister's Scholarship Scheme for RPF/RPSF.
The course must be duly recognized by the respective Government Regulatory Bodies, such as the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), the Medical Council of India (MCI), University Grants Commission (UGC), National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), etc.
Only MBA and MCA are eligible for master's degree courses.
This scholarship can be availed for one course only.
Applicant must be studying in India.
Applicant must be pursuing his/her education in regular mode and not distance education. He/she must have taken admission in the regular mode in the academic session for which he/she is applying.
Applicant must have secured a minimum of 60% marks in Class 12/ Diploma/Graduation.
This scholarship will not be granted to more than 2 children in an eligible family.
What is the amount of the PMSS Railway Personnel scholarship?
The amount of the scholarship offered to a male child and a female child is Rs. 2500 and Rs. 3000 per month respectively. The amount of the scholarship is credited directly into the bank account of the applicant.
Duration of PM Railway Scholarship
The duration of this scholarship varies from 2 years to 5 years, depending upon the duration of the course.
Documents required
Aadhar Card
Bank details, including complete account number, IFSC code.
A scanned copy of the first page of the passbook of the bank account or post office account along with the photograph.
Duly attested scanned copy of the mark sheet of the previous class.
A copy of PPO/Discharge certificate/book in case of wards/widows of ex-RPF/RPSF personnel. Service Certificate issued by the respective office in case of wards of serving RPF/RPSF personnel.
How to apply for PMSS for RPF?
To apply online for the PMSS RPF scholarship, visit https://scholarships.gov.in/ and submit on the 'New Registration' button or the 'Login' button (in case you are already registered).
Enter the required details and a soft copy of the required documents. Click on the 'Register' button.
You will receive a system-generated registration number 'Student Application ID' on your registered mobile number.
Last date to apply for Railway PMSS is 30 October 2022.
You should enter complete and correct details while filling the application form. If it is found at any subsequent time that false statements were provided by the applicant, then the remaining scholarship will be forfeited and he/she will be liable to refund all the amount of scholarship earlier paid to him/her. No future correspondence in this regard will be entertained from such person or his family.
