About Kotak Kanya Scholarship

Scholarship Amount and mode of payment: The scholarship amount is up to Rs. 1.5 lakh per year. This can be used for any aspect of the academic studies of the course, such as stationery, books, a laptop, fees for on-campus hostel accommodation, tuition fees, etc. The scholarship amount will be transferred each year to the student's bank account, and, if the student is a minor at the time of selection, to the bank account of the parent or the guardian. Once the minor student reaches the age of 18 years, the scholarship amount will then be transferred directly into her account.

Duration of the scholarship: The scholarship will be provided right through the graduation/professional course which is pursued alongside graduation. That is, it will be renewed each year till the completion of the course. However, the student at no time should drop out from the regular academic sessions and should not have any disciplinary issues. It is essential, too, to meet the required cut-off marks for renewal of scholarship as decided by the Kotak Education Foundation.

It should also be ensured that, at the start of every semester of the course, the relevant documents are uploaded on the online page that tracks the student's performance. These include the mark sheets of each exam of that semester, the fee structure and fee receipt to indicate that she has progressed to the next academic year, and any other documents as may be required.

What is covered by the scholarship: The Kotak Kanya Scholarship provides complete funding for all aspects of academic studies till the graduate Degree course is completed. The course should be from any institute that is accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC)/National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF). It can be an MBBS course or one in law or architecture or engineering, etc. The selected students will also receive the required mentoring throughout their academic years, right from Class 10 onwards.

Kotak Kanya Scholarship Eligibility Requirements

Who can apply: Only girl students from any part of India can apply. The student should have obtained at least 85% or more (or equivalent CGPA) in the Class 12 exam from a recognized Board and secured admission to the first year of a Graduate course from a reputed institute accredited by NAAC/NIRF.
