The State Institute for Administrative Careers (SIAC) is a State Govt.-established coaching centre to train candidates from the State to score well in UPSC Civil Services exams and similar allied exams. SIAC is now inviting applications in online mode from candidates keen to seek admission to SIAC and other allied institutions in Amravati, Aurangabad, Kolhapur, Mumbai, Nagpur, and Nashik for availing full-time coaching facilities for the UPSC Civil Services Exam 2023.

Candidates will be selected for admission on the basis of their combined performance in the Common Entrance Test (CE)-2022 and the interview. It is expected of candidates availing of the free coaching to appear for the UPSC Preliminary Examination, 2023. It is not advisable to take up any type of employment as this is a full-time coaching program, and you are not permitted to enroll in any other course during this time.
The list of institutions that are offering the coaching and each one's intake capacity is-
In Mumbai: State Institute of Administrative Careers (SIAC) with 100 seats.
In Amravati: Pre-IAS Training Centres (PITC) with 60 seats.
In Aurangabad: Pre-IAS Training Centres (PITC) with 60 seats.
In Nashik: Pre-IAS Training Centres (PITC) with 60 seats.
In Nagpur: Pre-IAS Training Centres (PITC with 100 seats.
In Kolhapur: Pre-IAS Training Centres (PITC) with 60 seats.
In Pune: (i) Dr. Ambedkar Competitive Examination Guidance Centre (ACEC), Yashwantrao Chavan Academy of Development Administration (YASHADA) with 60 seats. (ii) Savitribai Phule Academy, Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) with 100 seats.

Coaching Centre Facilities
Each coaching centre has WiFi and internet connectivity, a library, a reading hall, and a gym and computer centre (the latter two as per availability). Lectures will be conducted by qualified experts and from time to time Officers may be invited for motivational talks. A regular series of tests will be scheduled to track your performance.
You can avail of hostel accommodation, but this is strictly on the basis of merit and subject to the availability of seats. In case hostel facilities are not available, you are required to make your own arrangements at your cost. The hostel capacity available at each centre is mentioned in the instruction manual.
Stipend
Each candidate will get a monthly stipend as follows-
For SIAC and at all PITCs: Rs. 4000 p.m. on the basis of min. 75% attendance.
For Minority: Rs. 4000 p.m. on the basis of min. 75% attendance.
For Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Research and Training Institute (BARTI), Pune: Rs. 7000 p.m. on the basis of min. 75% attendance.
For YASHADA: Rs. 2500 p.m. on the basis of biometric attendance. Eligibility requirements
Domicile criterion: You must be a domicile of the State of Maharashtra, with the requisite certificate as proof that you are fulfilling this criterion.
If you are a domicile in an area that falls in the Maharashtra-Karnataka disputed border region, then you are required to fulfill all these criteria as well-
(i) You must have cleared the required qualifying exam from an institution that is located in the Maharashtra-Karnatak disputed region.
(ii) You must submit a certificate from the Head of the institution that your mother tongue is Marathi and that you had the Marathi language as one of the subjects in the SSC exam (Class 10 exam).
(iii) You must submit a letter from the concerned District Collector that your parents are the domicile of the Maharashtra-Karnataka Disputed region.
Educational Qualification: You must be a Graduate with a Bachelor`s Degree in any stream from a recognized University. Note that if you are an undergraduate, you can appear for the CET but will not be eligible for admission to training centres.
Age criterion: As on 1st August of 2023 it should be-
For Open Category candidates: 21 to 32 years.
For OBC, VJ-A, NT-B, NT-C, NT-D, and EWS Category candidates: 21 to 35 years.
For SC and ST Category candidates: 21 to 37 years.
For Divyangjan Category candidates: 21 to 45 years.
Additional notes- (i) For undergraduate students appearing for the CET, there is no age limit. (ii) Non-SC and Non-ST Reserved Category candidates are required to submit a Non-creamy Layer Certificate (NCL) valid till March 2023.CET-2022 Question Paper Format
The questions that will be asked in the Common Entrance Test (CE)-2022 are based on the paper pattern of the UPSC Civil Services Prelims 2023. Accordingly, there are two sections-
Paper-1 - General Studies-I: 50 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) for 100 marks, with a negative marking for an incorrect answer (1/3rd of the assigned marks for the question). The questions will be in English and Hindi.
Paper-2 - General Studies – II (CSAT): the pattern and negative marking system are the same as for Paper-1 with 40 MCQs for 100 marks. You must score a minimum of 33% of the marks in this paper.
The interview part of the selection process is 50 marks. It will be conducted online only, and the dates will be declared after the written exam.Application procedure

Next, log in using the application number (Order ID)/Username and password. During the application, you can select the institute where you wish to seek admission. Later also, based on your performance in the CET and interview, you will be given a final opportunity to select the institution for admission.Important dates

The Common Entrance Test (CET)-2022 is scheduled for 4th December 2022 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.What to do after the CET result
Once the interviews are over, a General Merit List will be prepared and displayed on the official website. You are required to log in and select your preferred institution for admission. The center-wise admission lists will then be prepared and displayed, and you must complete the admission formalities online and report to the centre for coaching as per the instructions given.
