Chettinad Vidyashram Profile

The reputed CBSE-affiliated school offers interesting activities and programs. While toddlers of the pre-primary section follow the Kindergarten as well as the Montessori system of education, in higher classes there are lessons pertaining to environmental education and adolescent education. Co-curricular activities at Chettinad Vidyashram include music, both vocal and instrumental, art & craft, indoor games, outdoor sports, etc. Unique features include clubs devoted to Tamil Music, Dance and Drama, Tanjore Art, and Clubs for promoting Hindi literature, and French. Students of the higher secondary class can opt for additional electives in physical education or fashion studies or fine arts with graphics.

Chettinad Vidyashram Campus Infrastructure

The classrooms at Chettinad Vidyashram are equipped with smart boards, and the overall Smart Class digital system incorporates relevant worksheets as also interesting features like virtual lab simulations, diagram markers, etc. There are two labs each for physics, chemistry, and biology, a Biotech lab, 12 computer science labs, two mathematics labs, two language labs for primary and secondary students, and workrooms for fashion technology & Fine Arts for the higher secondary students.

Other infrastructure at Chettinad Vidyashram, Chennai includes the well-known spacious Kumara Raja Muthiah Auditorium, four audio-visual rooms, a library, a health clinic for first aid and minor ailments, and a canteen and mess facility. The school playground provides facilities for tennis, net cricket, volleyball, football, throwball, etc while the separate playground for the KG students is equipped with swings, slides, monkey bars, a jungle gym, etc.

A daycare facility is available for Montessori I and for Pre-K.G, L.K.G children from 12 noon till 3.30 p.m. Safe bus transport facility is provided, with specific pick-up and drop-off points. The bus fee is determined by the distance from the school campus and may change as per the price of fuel. However, the bus facility may not be available for students of Class IX onward.

Age criteria for admissions to Chettinad Vidyashram

The age eligibility requirements for admission to Chettinad Vidyashram are as of 31st March of the year of seeking admission. So for the academic year 2023-24, the age criterion is-
For admission to Pre K.G.: 2 years as on 31st March 2023.
For admission Montessori-I: 2 years 6 months (2 ½ years) as on 31st March 2023.
For L.K.G.: 3 years as on 31st March 2023.

Chettinad Vidyashram Admission Procedure

Parents seeking admission for their wards can obtain the application form for admission at the school office on all working days between 10 a.m and 3 p.m. For the academic year 2023, the admission forms will be available only up to 23rd November 2022.

The completed form should be submitted along with the following documents-
For admission to Pre-K.G, L.K.G, and Montessori-I: a recent Passport size photo of the child, a recent PAN Card size photo of both parents, and a self-attested copy of the Learn how to apply for a duplicate birth certificate (not necessary if online-generated), of the Community Certificate, if applicable, for SC, ST, MBC & BC, and of the Aadhar Card.

For admission for U.K.G. to Std IX: in addition to the above, the self-attested copy of the School Report Card of Term –I/EMIS number for Std I-XI.

For admission to Std XI: in addition to the documents as given for the pre-primary section, the self-attested copy of the Mark List of the half-yearly exam Term-I (Mandatory)/EMIS number for XI.

Closing date for submission of applications: on or before 28th November 2022.
