Applications open for Lady Tata Memorial Trust International Award for Research in Leukaemia 2023-24
Sir Dorabji Tata set up the Lady Tata Memorial Trust in April 1932 in memory of his wife, Lady Meherbai whose sad demise due to leukaemia led him to offer financial support through the Trust for research on leukaemia, and other diseases as well. This support includes scholarships, fellowships , and awards . The Trust is now inviting candidates of any nationality to apply for the International Award for Research in Leukaemia 2023-24 that will offer individual support specifically for research on Leukaemia.

About the Award

The International Award for Research in Leukaemia is up to a maximum of £35,000. It is offered only for the duration of one year and an application for funds for a further year cannot be made. The application should be submitted by the individual who is conducting the research investigation, and not the PI of the host lab.

Additionally, the Lady Tata Memorial Trust may also select awardees for a Studentship an MPhil/PhD Lady Tata for two years, and this may be further renewed for one more year after an appraisal of the progress made during the preceding 18 months.

Eligibility requirements

Since it is a global award, an individual of any nationality is welcome to apply. While those individuals who are in research work more than six years post their Ph.D. degree qualification are not likely to get a green signal for funding, but yet decide to apply, then they must explain with strong reasons why they are eligible for the funding.
