About the program

Banaras Hindu University is a central university which is located in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, India. It was established in 1916. Banaras Hindu University (BHU), Varanasi has released an official notification for admission to B.VSC & A.H programs. Bachelor of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry (B.VSc. & A.H.) is a branch of medical science that deals with the medical application & diagnostic and therapeutic principles of various types of animals. It is an undergraduate degree course with a Course duration of 5.6 years. The course comprises 5 years of academic sessions and 6 months of mandatory internship.

Eligibility criteria

  • Candidate should have passed higher Secondary (10+2) or the Indian School Certificate Examination or Intermediate examination (or equivalent examination) in Science from a recognized Board/University with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (which shall include a practical test in these subjects) and English securing at least 50% marks in aggregate and must have passed each of the aforesaid subjects individually.

  • 10% relaxation would be given to SC/ST Candidate. Candidates should have scored at least a minimum of 40% marks in aggregate in qualifying examinations and English securing at least 40% marks in aggregate and must have passed each of the aforesaid subjects individually.

  • Age should not be less than 17 years and not more than 25 years.

  • Reservation of Seats

    There will be a 15% reservation in seats for SC, 7.5% for ST, and 27% for non-creamy layer OBC candidates. Apart from this, 10% of seats are reserved for EWS (Economically Weaker Section) candidates and 5% for Persons with Disability (PwD) candidates. The candidates who wish to get the reservation category benefit must apply under this category and should produce a relevant category certificate at the time of the interview.

    How to Apply

    The online applications are available on the entrance test portal of BHU. Desirous candidates must visit the official website of BHU. Candidates who are interested to apply for these courses should have to write the NEET entrance examinations for 2022 which are going to conduct at various centers throughout India. The online application submission process includes registration as the first step. Eligible candidates must register themselves by submitting their details like name, date of birth, email id, and mobile id. After successful registration, the candidates will receive a user id and password. Using those credentials the candidates can log in and fill out the application form, upload the necessary documents and pay the application form fee through the online payment gateway. After the successful submission of the online application form for various courses, the candidates can download the filled-in application form.

    Application Fee

    An application fee is to be paid by the candidate. The application fee is non-refundable. Fees can be paid through a payment gateway, using a Credit Card /Debit Card/ NET Banking. Fee details are as follows:
    For the general category candidates: Rs.900/-
    For reserved category (SC/ST/PwD) candidates: Rs. 450/-

    Documents to be uploaded

    Candidates must upload the following documents:
  • Latest photograph passport size (Maximum size: not more than 100KB; Formats: JPG / JPEG / PNG)

  • Scanned signature (Maximum size: not more than 100KB; Formats: JPG / JPEG /PNG)

  • Scanned copy of any valid government ID proof: Aadhaar Card (with the photograph) / Voter's ID / PAN Card / Passport /Driving License/Ration Card (with the photograph)


  • Selection procedure

    Selection will be done based on NEET (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test) score 2022. After the declaration of the NEET result, they have to enter their scores on the admission portal before the due date. A merit list will be prepared by the university and those clearing the same will receive a call letter for counseling. The candidates falling under SC, ST, and OBC categories are provided with some relaxation in the cutoff score.
