The Education Department of Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), Mumbai has announced admissions open to its Mumbai Public Schools (MPS) in Mumbai for the next academic year of 2023-2024. There are 11 CBSE-affiliated schools, one school proposed to be affiliated with the ICSE Board, one school proposed to be affiliated with IGCSE, and one school proposed to be affiliated with IB.
Admissions are open to the schools only for the 876 seats at the Nursery level, for two divisions, namely, Nursery-1, and Nursery-2. In case the number of applications to any school exceeds the number of seats available in that school, then a lottery draw will be scheduled.

About two years ago, the campuses got a major overhaul in terms of infrastructure and facilities. Classrooms are now having digital screens that provide a unique teaching-learning experience between the teachers and the students. The library in each school is well-stocked with books, newspapers, etc, and science labs have the required equipment. Computer labs have desktops and Wi-Fi connectivity. Sports facilities for badminton, basketball, etc are there along with those for indoor games. Students are encouraged to participate in cultural activities and sports competitions.
Note that Marathi is a mandatory subject in all the MPS CBSE and ICSE schools.
Eligibility requirements

Applications for admission should be made online at the official BMC Public Schools Admission 2023 website. Details should be entered correctly. Do not make any mistakes, and put in the name of the child, the date of birth, the name of the parents, the address, etc properly.

The final list of selected students will be displayed on the respective school's notice board. The parents must then visit the school along with their ward, and produce the valid documents (original and photocopies as applicable) as required by the school, which includes the address proof, the student's birth certificate, etc.
Schedule of Key Dates for BMC Public Schools Admissions Online application is open from 4th January 2023 to 22nd January 2023.
Document verification and Counselling session with the Parents will be done from 16th January 2023 to 31st January 2023.
The shortlisted candidates' list will be released on 6th February 2023.
The lottery draw process will be from 6th to 11th February 2023.
The list of selected candidates will be released on 16th February 2023.
The enrollment process for admission of the selected candidates will begin when the final list is displayed, up to 8th March 2023.
The school academic session for 2023-24 will begin on 3rd April 2023 (tentative date).
