About the college
St. Joseph's Institute of Management (SJIM) located in Bengaluru, is one of the first business colleges in the state of Karnataka. Established in the year 1968, the college was earlier known by its erstwhile name 'St Joseph's College of Business Administration'. Its origin, however, dates back to 1885, when St. Joseph's European High School was first opened in Bangalore by the Paris Foreign Mission Fathers. Until the year 1995, SJIM was offering one-year evening management courses. It was in 1996 that the college got approval from the AICTE and since then offering its flagship two-year full-time Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) program. It was in the year 2016 that the institute got its name changed to St. Joseph's Institute of Management. The college has now shifted to its new location at Primrose road off M.G. Road in the heart of the city.

SJIM prides itself in the fact that it is the only Jesuit Business School in the city. It is a member of the International Association of Jesuit Business Schools and the Xavier Association of Management Institutions. Program overview
The two-year Post Graduate Diploma in Management program offered by the institute is equivalent to any MBA course offered by other business schools. The specializations offered for the program are Finance, Marketing, Human Resources Management and Operations & Supply Chain Management. There are options for dual specializations, as the students can specialize in two streams from the above four. Following are the dual combinations available for the students to choose from.
A total number of 180 seats are available for the PGDM course. Fee structure and scholarships
The total fee for the entire duration of the course is INR 8,60,000. Students can avail of educational loans from SBI that are disbursed in four six-monthly instalments.
A number of scholarships are available for deserving students. These are the admission scholarship, general merit scholarship, and merit-cum-means scholarship. The admission scholarship is awarded to those candidates, who score above a certain percentile in the entrance test. Depending upon the percentile, the scholarship amount ranges from INR 20,000 to INR 2,00,000. The merit scholarship is INR 50,000 which is awarded to the top 10 students in both years of study. The merit-cum-means is for economically weak but meritorious students. INR 40,000 is awarded to 5 such students in both the first and second year.Eligibility criteria

For the micro presentation, the candidates will be asked to speak on a given topic for 3-4 minutes in English.Entrance test
The institute would not be conducting any entrance test of its own. Instead, the selections of the candidates will be based on their test scores in any of the national-level entrance tests like CAT, MAT, XAT, GMAT, CMAT and ATMA. The candidates should have a minimum of 60 percentile in the above tests. For MAT, the composite score should be above 550. Selection procedure
The initial shortlisting of the candidates will be done on the basis of their academic performance, entrance test score and work experience if any. The shortlisted candidates will have to appear for a personal interview and an English language test micro presentation. The interview and the language test could be conducted either offline or online. Names of the shortlisted candidates for the personal interview will be published on the SJIM website. They will be also individually informed through email or SMS. For the final selection of the candidates, weightage is given to every component of the selection procedure. The interview has 25 percent, graduation 20, entrance test score 15 and 10 each for class X, XII, work experience and English language test.
