How to apply for admissions to DPS Jammu

Parents seeking admission for their ward(s) to DPS Jammu have to register for admission and submit the application for admission in the prescribed form as per the schedule given below. In case a student has attended another recognized school earlier and is seeking admission to DPS Jammu, it is necessary to submit a transfer certificate from the earlier school. If the student has attended an unrecognized private school or has not attended school at all, parents must submit the official birth certificate from an authorized official body, such as the Municipal Corporation or Panchayat as supporting documentary proof of the child's date of birth. The school will not accept an affidavit of any kind as documentary proof of the birth certificate.

Parents are advised to read the admission procedure and instructions given on the official website prior to applying.

Selection procedure at DPS Jammu

After submission of applications, admission tests will be scheduled for admission to Classes I to IX for selecting students on merit as per seat availability. However, there are no entrance tests for the pre-primary wing, namely, pre-nursery, nursery, and Prep-I. Admission to Class XI will be automatic, but the student will be allotted a stream (Commerce/Science/Humanities) based on the Class X CBSE Board exam results and the students fulfilling the eligibility criteria of marks will then appear for an Aptitude Test.

Once the parents are informed of their ward's selection for admission, they have to complete the rest of the formalities, namely, submission of documents, payment of fees, etc within the time given. Till these are completed, the admission will be provisional only. In case the documents or other requirements are not completed, then the school may remove the name of the student from the provisional attendance sheet.
