About the institute

Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Kashipur is located in Uttarakhand state. Established in 2011, it is one of the second-generation IIMs in India. Ever since its establishment, the institute has been striving to excel in the field of management education. In this respect, the institute is offering a number of management programs for postgraduate students as well as working professionals. Some of these programs include MBA, Ph.D. and Executive Development Programs. IIM Kashipur has been lately partnering with a number of organisations such as LIC, ONGC, Indian Oil, and Bharat Electronics Ltd as well as various government departments and providing opportunities to professionals from these organisations to pursue short-term management development programs. The institute has a 200-acre campus and is located amidst very picturesque surroundings in the lap of the Himalayas. The famed Jim Corbett National Park is located some 25 km away.

About MBA Analytics

MBA Analytics is a 2-year full-time residential program offered by IIM Kashipur for postgraduate students. This management program on analytics is quite a useful one as the field is drawing a lot of attention in recent times from students and industry alike. With rapidly changing business scenarios, data analysis and analytics are helping organisations arrive at better decisions. The program thus helps participants gain key insights into decision-making. Eligibility criteria

Following are the two conditions to be met for admission to the MBA Analytics program.

  1. A bachelor's or a master's degree in any of the streams. The minimum aggregate mark for general category students is 50% or an equivalent CGPA. For SC/ST and differently-abled persons, the minimum mark is 45%. For OBC-NCL and EWS candidates the minimum requirement is 47%.

  2. A valid CAT 2022 or GMAT score. The GMAT exam should have been taken later than 01 May 2021.

IIM Kashipur provides reservation of seats to SC/ST/OBC-NCL/EWS and differently-abled students as per government of India guidelines on the same.

Selection process

Selection of the candidates is done in a two-step process. In the first step, the candidates are shortlisted based on their past academic performances, CAT/GMAT score, and work experience apart from gender and discipline diversity. In the second stage, candidates who are shortlisted are called for a personal interview. The personal interview will be conducted online by the institute.

Weightage of shortlisting criteria

Following are the respective weightage of the different shortlisting criteria for the program.

  1. Class X marks - 10

  2. Class XII marks - 10

  3. Graduation marks - 20

  4. Qualifying exam (GATE/GMAT) - 20

  5. Work experience - 10 (full-time and paid work experience only)

  6. Gender diversity - 7.5 (for female and transgender applicants)

  7. Discipline diversity - 2.5 (for non-engineering applicants)

Total shortlisting score - 80
Personal interview score - 20
Total score - 100

The formation of the merit list and the final selections of the candidates for the program will be based on both the shortlisting score and the interview score, i.e. a total score of 100.

First-year fee - Rs 9,18,000
Second year - Rs 8,82,000
Total fee - Rs 18,00,000


IIM Kashipur offers the following three kinds of scholarships for the MBA analytics program.

  1. Merit based scholarships

  2. Need based scholarships

  3. Need cum merit-based scholarships

The scholarships are offered to both first and second-year students. A full tuition fee waiver is given to eligible students irrespective of their categories, whether general or reserved. The need-based and the need cum merit-based scholarships are given to those students whose family income from all sources is Rs 5 lakh or less. Students already in receipt of scholarships from other sources or government assistance are not eligible for any of the scholarships. Depending on the changed financial circumstances of the students and other factors like demand and availability of funds, the financial assistance program of the institute may change.

How to apply

To apply for the MBA Analytics program the candidates will have to visit the admission page on IIM Kashipur website. The application has to be done online. An online application form is to be filled and requisite documents are to be uploaded. The details of the documents are enumerated below. A non-refundable application fee as per the category of the candidate has also to be paid before submitting the form.

Application fee

  1. For general candidates - Rs 1,500

  2. For SC/ST/OBC-NCL/EWS and differently-abled candidates - Rs 750

Documents required

Following are the documents that will need to be produced during the admission process.

  • Class 10th or matriculation marksheet

  • Class 12th or equivalent marksheet

  • Graduation certificate and marksheets

  • Caste certificates for candidates belonging to the reserved categories

  • Suitable supporting documents for EWS candidates

  • Work experience certificate along with salary slips for the first and last month of service. For the self-employed a self-declaration regarding the work or profession along with supporting documents. As for work experience, only full-time work after graduation should be mentioned.

Refunds, in case of withdrawals

On final selections, but before registrations, candidates have to pay an acceptance fee of Rs 50,000. In case a candidate withdraws before registration, an amount of Rs 1,000 is deducted from the acceptance fee and the balance is returned. In case of withdrawals after registration, there are no refunds. Refunds, if any, are processed one month after the withdrawal date.

Among these is the 2-year part-time Executive MBA (EMBA) program, the classes for which are conducted on weekends at IIM, Kashipur's satellite campus at Dehradun which is exclusively for executive education.The program is suitable for middle and senior-level professionals from industries, public sector enterprises and government departments.The program helps in value addition for the participants as it makes them aware of the latest entrepreneurial trends and industry practices.
