About IMS Ghaziabad

Institute of Management Studies (IMS) Ghaziabad, PG campus, is a popular business school in the Delhi National Capital Region (NCR). Located in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, and close to the national capital, IMS Ghaziabad has been in the field of management education for more than three decades. The institute is part of the IMS group of institutions, which has two more institutes under it located in the city of Ghaziabad itself. Set up in 1990, the IMS group has state-of-the-art campuses and uses the most modern means for imparting the best education to its students. The group has its motto, 'Value addition in professional education', where acquiring skills along with knowledge is the guiding principle of this higher education institution. Through its three campuses, it offers a range of courses in the field of management, information technology, engineering, biosciences, and mass communication. The IMS Ghaziabad PG campus has the Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) as its flagship program.



About the PGDM program

The PGDM program offered by the institute is a 2-year full-time residential course that is equivalent to an MBA by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU). The program is approved by the AICTE and is NBA accredited. It has all the attributes and objectives as are essential for any management program. It provides the necessary interface to channel academic excellence into corporate wisdom. By undertaking this program, the participants, apart from learning a host of management principles, will be able to improve their decision-making and strategic skills. The practical nature of the program and the direct exposure to industries is very much helpful in inculcating entrepreneurial and innovation skills that go a long way in jumpstarting your career in the management field.

The program, which begins in the month of July, follows a trimester pattern, i.e. it has three terms in a year. Each term is 11-12 weeks long. After three terms or the end of the first year, the students mandatorily undertake an internship of 6-8 weeks in the corporate world. In the second year of study, the students are offered dual specializations. Before the end of the course, they have to also complete a dissertation project in their chosen specialization for the successful completion of the program. Following are the specializations available to choose from.

  2. Marketing Management
  3. Human Resource Management
  4. Data Analytics
  5. International Business
  6. Operations and Supply Chain Management

Eligibility criteria

The applicants have to be a graduate in any discipline with at least 50% marks or an equivalent CGPA. The undergraduate course should be at least 3 years in duration and recognised by the UGC/AICTE. Freshers as well as those with work experience are equally eligible to apply. Those in the final year of study may also apply. They should be, however, able to submit the requisite marks memo or degree certificate well before program commencement.

Selection process

The final selection of the candidates is done on the basis of a host of factors. These include academic qualifications, CAT/CMAT/GMAT test score, work experience and achievements if any, written aptitude test, group discussion (GD), and personal interview (PI). Among these GD and PI has the maximum weightage - 25% each, whereas academic and professional achievements have 20%, CAT/CMAT score 20%, and written aptitude test 10%. Candidates appearing on the merit list will be offered admission to the program. The candidates after getting selected will get a month's time to pay the first instalment of the tuition fee.

For the 34th batch of the program commencing from July 2023, the candidates will be selected in different schedules. Following are the dates for the next schedule of GD/PI-

Program fee, scholarships and financing

The entire fee structure for the program is Rs 7,95,000/-. The fee could be paid either online or through a demand draft or pay order, drawn in the name of IMS Ghaziabad payable at Delhi. Apart from the above program fee, the candidates have to pay the hostel fee of Rs 1,40,000/- annually. The hostel fee also includes the mess fee. The hostels are centrally air-conditioned.

A number of scholarships are provided to deserving students based on merit mainly for the first year of study. Those scoring 80 percentile or above in CAT/CMAT get a 20% discount on tuition fees equalling Rs 50,000. Between the 70 to 80 percentile, the discount is 10%. Similarly, there are scholarships based on educational qualifications. Then there are scholarships for defence personnel and so on. Students can also avail of loan financing, as the institute has an understanding of a number of banks. Some of them are OBC Bank, Central Bank of India, Allahabad Bank, and HDFC Bank.



How to apply

For applying for the PGDM program, willing candidates need to first register online for the GD/PI by visiting the official website of IMS Ghaziabad. For this, they have to submit their name email id ad phone number. The application fee is Rs 1100/-. Other ways to register are collecting the application form directly from the institute by paying the necessary fee or obtaining it by post from the institute office by sending a demand draft for Rs 1150/-. In case of making payment through demand drafts, it should be drawn in favour of IMS Ghaziabad, payable at Delhi. A valid email id and mobile number are necessary for registration.
