How to register for ISRO Young Scientist Programme 2023

About ISRO

The Full form of ISRO is Indian Space Research Organization. As its name suggests, it performs all the activities related to space exploration. Bangalore is the headquarter of ISRO. ISRO works under the department of space (DOS) of the Government of India.

Young Scientist Programme

ISRO (Indian Space Research Organization) is going to launch Young Scientist Programme 2023. This is a special program for school students in the ninth class. This programme is known as Young Scientist Programme (YUVIKA). This programme provides knowledge about Space Technology, Space Science and Space research to the students. The students of class 9 can apply or register themselves for this programme. The registration will start on 20 march 2023 and the last date for registration is 3 April 2023.

Parameters for the selection

The candidates would be selected on the basis of the following parameters:

  • Marks obtained in the 8 or last passed exam - 50%

  • Performance in online quiz - 10%

  • Participation in science fair (school/ district/ state level) - 2/5/10%

  • Rank in Olympiad (school/ district/ state level) - 2/4/5%

  • Winners of sport competition (school/ district/ state level) - 2/4/5%

  • Scout and guides/ NCC/ NSS - 5%

  • Studying in the village or rural area - 15%

  • Vikram Sarrah Bhai Space Center (VSSC) Tiruvanantpuram

  • Indian Institute of Remote Sensing (IIRS) Dehradun

  • Satish Dhawan Space Center (SDSC) Shri Harikota

  • U. R. Rao Satellite Centre (URSC) Bangalore

  • Space Application Center (SAC) Ahmadabad

  • National Remote Sensing Center (NRSC) Hyderabad

  • North-East Space Application Center (NE-SAC) Shilong

  • Opening of registration - 20 March 2023

  • Last date of Registration - 3 April 2023

  • Release of the first list of selected candidates - 10 April 2023

  • Release of the first list of selected candidates - 20 April 2023

  • Reporting of the selected candidates at respective centres - 14 May 2023

  • YUVIKA Programme 2023 - 15 May 2023 to 26 April 2023

  • Send-off date = 27 May 023
