CUET PG 2023 applications open for Cluster University of Jammu PG Programs Admissions


Looking for the admission notification for postgraduate courses at colleges of the Cluster University Jammu? This article provides complete information on the list of PG courses offered by the School and Constituent Colleges of the Cluster University Jammu for which admissions can be taken through the Common University Entrance Test (CUET PG-2023). Details of the eligibility requirements, application fee, and online registration for CUET PG 2023 have been provided.

The Cluster University of Jammu has issued the admission notification for its postgraduate courses in the University Schools and five Constituent Colleges for the academic session 2023-24. Admission to all the programs will be through the Common University Entrance Test (CUET PG-2023) which will be conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA).

Cluster University Jammu Colleges and Programs

The Cluster University of Jammu is a Collegiate University that was established as an initiative of the HRD Ministry, Govt. of India under the RUSA (Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan) scheme. Under this Collegiate are five prestigious colleges of Jammu. The colleges and the PG programs offered at each are-
  1. Govt. Gandhi Memorial Science College (GGM Science College): English (35 seats), and Geology (20 seats).

  2. Govt. P.G. College for Women: Food Science and Technology (20 seats).

  3. Sri Pratap Memorial Rajput College of Commerce(SPRM College of Commerce): M.Com. (35 seats).

  4. Government Maulana Azad Memorial College (Govt. MAM College): M.A/M.Sc Mathematics (35 seats), and M.A Music (15 seats).

  5. Govt. College of Education: M.Ed. (36 seats).

There are also five Schools offering Integrated Postgraduate programs. The Schools with the Departments and Courses offered are-

PG School of Science

Department of Chemistry: Five year Integrated M.Sc. Hons. Program in Chemistry (35 seats).
Department of Physics: 5-year Integrated M.Sc. Hons. Program in Physics (35 seats).
Department of Mathematics: 5-year Integrated M.Sc. Hons. Program in Mathematics (35 seats).
Department of Zoology: 5-year Integrated M.Sc. Hons. Program in Zoology (25 seats).
Department of Geology: 5-year Integrated M.Sc. Hons. Program in Geology (35 seats).
Department of Botany: 5-year Integrated M.Sc. Hons. Program in Botany (25 seats).

PG School of Social Science

Department of Commerce: 5-year Integrated M.Com. Hons. Program in Commerce (35 seats).
Department of History: 5-year Integrated M.A. History Hons. Program in History (35 seats).

PG School of Humanities and Liberal Arts

Department of English: Five Year Integrated M.A. Hons. Program in English (35 seats).
Department of Linguistics and Literature: Five Year Integrated M.A. Hons. Program in Linguistic and Literature (40 seats).

PG School of Teacher Education

Department of Education: Integrated B.Ed.-M.Ed. (20 seats).

PG School of Engineering and Computer Technology

The school plans to start B.Tech. in Engineering in the disciplines of Computer Science Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, and Electrical Engineering.



Eligibility requirements for PG Courses CUET 2023

While there is no age limit to appear for the CUET PG 2023, you will be required to fulfill the age criteria of the University' School or Constituent College to which you will be taking admission. The educational qualification criteria for each of the postgraduate courses offered by the Cluster University Jammu are as follows-

M.A. (English): Candidates who have passed/appeared in B.A. (Honors) in English or with English Literature as the main, elective, or additional subject irrespective of whether the exam passed is in Arts, Science, or Commerce stream for at least four semesters will be given preference. If you have passed in the qualifying exam without the English Literature subject, then you may be considered for admission to the course subject to the availability of seats, if any, provided you have scored a minimum of 60% in the qualifying exam.

M.A. Linguistics and Literature: You should have passed/appeared in the final year of a bachelor's degree in any stream.

M.A. History: You should have passed B.A. History (Hons.)/B.A. with History as one of the core/elective subjects in all three years. Other candidates may also be considered subject to the availability of seats left vacant, if any, provided the candidate has secured a minimum of 60% in the qualifying exam.

M.A. Music: You should have passed the bachelor's degree in the stream of Music. You can also apply if you have taken Music as an elective/additional subject at the undergraduate level or an Honours in Music. Graduates in any discipline, namely Arts, Science, or Commerce from a UGC-recognized University with the following Diploma course (six/seven years) can also apply - Sangeet Visharad Purna, Sangeet Prabhakar from any of these recognized Music Boards of India: (1) Akhil Bhartiya Gandharav Mahamandal, Miraj/Mumbai, Maharashtra; (2) Prayag Sangeet Samiti, Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh.

M.Sc. Botany: You should have passed B.Sc. Botany (Hons.)/B.Sc. exam with Botany as one of the core/elective subjects in all three years.

M.Sc. Chemistry: You should have passed B.Sc. Chemistry (Hons.)/B.Sc. exam with Chemistry as one of the core/elective subjects in all three years.

M.Sc. Food Science and Technology: You should have passed the bachelor's degree exam with Food Science & Quality Control as an elective subject/B.Sc. Home Science as full stream/B.Sc. medical stream.

M.Sc. Geology: You should have passed/appeared in the final year of the B.Sc. Geology (Hons.)/B.Sc. exam with Geology as one of the core/elective subjects in all three years.

M.Sc. Physics: You should have passed/appeared in the B.Sc. Physics (Hons.)/B.Sc. exam with Physics as one of the core/elective subjects in all three years.

M.Sc. Zoology: You should have passed/appeared in the B.Sc. Zoology (Hons.)/B.Sc. exam with Zoology as one of the core/elective subjects in all three years.

M.A./M.Sc. Maths: You should have passed/appeared in the B.Sc. Mathematics (Hons.)/BA/B.Sc. exam with Mathematics as one of the core/elective subjects in all three years.

M.Com. Commerce: You should have passed/appeared in the final year of qualifying B.Com. (Gen.)/B.Com (Hons.) under the 10+2+3 pattern. There is a reservation of 10% of the total number of seats for those who have passed/appeared in BA/BSc/BBA/BCA or any other recognized Bachelor's Degree with not less than 60% marks.

M.Ed. Education: You should have passed B.Ed. with 50% marks.

Integrated B.Ed.-M.Ed.: You should have passed the Postgraduate exam from any recognized University with at least 55% marks.

CUET-PG 2023 Application procedure

You have to register with a valid email ID and mobile number and submit your application online at National Testing Agency website. Before applying, read the information brochure, and can also check for information at https://cuet.nta.nic.in/

Ensure that you fill in all details correctly in the online application form, including personal details (name, address, etc), the Paper that you are appearing for, details of educational qualifications, etc, and upload the required images and documents. You can choose the cities where you would prefer to appear for the entrance exam (you can select two cities of your choice based on your permanent address or present address),

You have to pay the online application fee as shown in the Table below-

During the online application process, you have to upload a recent scanned photo (either colour or black and white) on a white background in JPG/JPEG format (size should be between 10 kb to 200 kb), and a scanned signature in JPG/JPEG format (size should be between 4 kb to 30 kb). Upon successful online payment of the application fee, you should download, save and print a copy of the confirmation page of the application Form for future reference.



CUET PG 2023 Exam Format and Schedule

The CUET PG 2023 is of two hours, with two shifts. The first shift is from 10 a.m. to 12 noon, and the second shift is from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. The test centre, date, and shift of the exam will be indicated on the Admit Card.

The exam will be conducted in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode only, in English and Hindi except for language and Sahitya papers. Each question paper will have 100 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs). The marking system is as follows-
Four marks will be awarded for each correct answer.
One mark will be deducted for a wrong answer.
No marks will be given for an unanswered or unattempted question.

Note- You can choose a maximum of 20 test paper codes in all.

At the test centre, you have to bring the following- (1) Admit card duly filled in (download it from the NTA website and take a clear printout of it on A4 size paper), (2) one additional photo (which should be the same as uploaded on the online application Form) to be pasted on the attendance sheet at the center, (3) an authorized photo ID in original, such as the School Identity Card/PAN card/Driving License/Voter ID/Passport/Aadhar Card(with photo)/E-Aadhaar with photo/Ration Card with photo/Class 12 Board Admit Card with photo/Bank Passbook with Photo, and (4) the PwBD certificate issued by the authorized medical officer, if claiming the relaxation under the PwBD category.

Note- You have to bring your own transparent ballpoint pen and are allowed to bring a transparent water bottle.



CUET PG 2023 Important dates

The online submission of application forms begins on 20th March 2023.
The online submission of application forms ends on 19th April 2023, up to 5 p.m.
Correction in the particulars of the application form can be done from 20the April 2023 to 23rd April 2023.
The last date for successful transaction of the exam fee is 19th April 2023, up to 11.50 p.m.
The dates for downloading Admit Cards from the NTA website will be announced later.
The date of CUET-PG 2023 and the time will be announced later.
The date of the result of CUET PG 2023 will be announced later.
