The National Council for Hotel Management and Catering Technology (NCHMCT), an autonomous body under the aegis of the Ministry of Tourism, Govt. of India, has announced the schedule for NCHM-JEE 2023 for admission to the B.Sc. Course in Hospitality and Hotel Administration (B.Sc. HHA) across India for the academic session 2023-24. Admission to the course will depend on not just the score obtained in NCHM-JEE 2023 conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA), but also on the affiliating institute's admission criteria, medical fitness, verification of original documents, etc as per the acceptable norms of NCHMCT.

About NCHM B.Sc. (HHA) course

The B.Sc. (HHA) is a 3-year undergraduate course offered at all the premier IHM institutes in India, which include 21 Central Govt. institutes, 28 State Govt. institutes, 26 private institutes, and one PSU. You can avail of Central Govt. and State Govt. scholarships for all the institutes. The curriculum includes food and beverage service, food production, housekeeping, front office operations, HR management, food safety, marketing, etc. On successfully completing the B.Sc. (HHA) course, you will be awarded the hospitality degree from the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi.



NCHM-JEE 2023 Eligibility requirements

You should have passed the Class 12 (10+2) exam or its equivalent (refer to the information bulletin to know which are the acceptable equivalent exams) from a recognized Board with English as one of the subjects, from a recognized Educational Board, and must pass English as a subject of study, either as a core subject or as an elective or functional subject in the qualifying exam. You can appear for NCHM-JEE 2023 if you have appeared for the Class 12 exam this year, and will get provisional admission, but must submit the relevant supporting documents as proof of passing the Class 12 exam at the time of the counselling session or the latest by 30th September 2023.

NCHM-JEE 2023 Application procedure

You should first go through the information bulletin and read the guidelines provided on the application procedure before applying for NCHM-JEE 2023 at the NTA official website for NCHM-JEE 2023.

The exam fee for NCHM-JEE 2023 should also be paid online through Net Banking or with a debit card or with a credit card or UPI. The fee is Rs.1000/- for General candidates and OBC-(NCL) candidates, Rs. 700/- for Gen-EWS candidates, and Rs. 450/- for SC, ST, PwD, and third gender candidates (GST and online processing charges will be extra). NTA Helpdesk contact details for payment-related issues have been provided in the information bulletin.

The documents that should be scanned and uploaded during the online application process are- a photo, signature, reservation category certificate as applicable, and Pwd certificate if applicable (refer to the information bulletin to know the file size and format). You must also select four cities as exam centres for NCHM-JEE 2023. You should also keep ready the information that will be required to be filled in, such as the Aadhar Card number or other Govt. IDs, date of birth, postal address with pin code, educational qualifications, etc.

NCHM-JEE 2023 Exam Format for B.Sc. (HHA)

NCHM-JEE 2023 for the B.Sc. (HHA) courses is a Computer Based Test (CBT) of 200 marks with Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) in English and Hindi medium. A correct answer will get you four marks, an unanswered question will be given zero, and an incorrect answer carries a negative marking of -1. It is of three hours duration, from 9 am. To 12 noon. The MCQs include-
  1. Numerical Ability and Analytical Aptitude- 30 marks.

  2. Reasoning and Logical Deduction- 30 marks.

  3. General Knowledge & Current Affairs- 30 marks.

  4. English Language- 60 marks.

  5. Aptitude for Service Sector- 50 marks.

Important note: Ensure that you bring the Admit Card to the exam centre and other required documents as mentioned in the information bulletin, such as the original Govt. photo ID, PwD certificate if applicable, a passport size photo, etc.



Important dates

The closing date for registration and submission of the application form for NCHM-JEE 2023 is 27th April 2023, up to 5 p.m.
The last date to pay the online fee or NCHM-JEE 2023 is 27th April 2023 up to 11.50 p.m.
Corrections in the particulars of the application form can be done online from 28th to 30th April 2023.
Admit Card for NCHM-JEE 2023 can be downloaded from the official website on the dates to be announced later.
NCHM-JEE 2023 is scheduled to be conducted on 14th May 2023.
The dates of the display of the provisional answer key and the result will be announced later.
