Proficiency in a language is always good for communication. A professional in a particular language will have a good vocabulary available to him and he may be able to use precise words when he is communicating with others. The communication will be very clear.

If a person is having knowledge of multiple languages he can easily manage with different people from different places. That way people who go out of the State in India will definitely learn the regional language of that state and it will give them some advantage in communication as they can express themselves in the local language there.

Sometimes in the interviews for selecting employees, some people will give importance to the persons who know their local language also in addition to English. It is more so for the people who manage manufacturing plants where unskilled workmen are present.
