How to do 2023 F.Y.J.C. online admissions for Mumbai, Pune, and other Maharashtra colleges

The School Education and Sports Department, Government of Maharashtra has started the Class 11 Centralised Online Admission Process (known as CAP) for the academic session 2023-2024. This online procedure is for admissions to colleges in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR) area) in Mumbai, Thane, Raigad districts, Pune, and Pimpari-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation areas as well as those in the areas of Nagpur, Amravati, and Nashik Municipal Corporations.

All recognized junior colleges that are affiliated with the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education are required to conduct the admissions for F.Y.J.C. only through this online CAP process. Students can begin their registration for admission from 25th May 2023. Additionally, on the basis of the marks that you scored in the Class 10 exam, and as per seat availability in the college, you will get admission. As per Govt. norms, there will be reserved seats for various categories of candidates.

You have to register with a user ID and password at the official FYJC CAP Admissions' website from 25th May 2023.
You have to fill in Part-1 first. Part-2 has to be filled later, with the marks that you scored in the Class 10 exam, and give the college preferences where you wish to seek admission to F.Y.J.C. Steps for Registration
Part-1 comprises of the initial registration process. You begin by indicating the area of the school from where you passed the Class 10 exam, that is (i) within MMR area, or (ii) outside MMR area (that is the school is within the State of Maharashtra but is located outside the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Area); or (iii) outside Maharashtra State (including also outside India).
Next, indicate what is your status as a student, namely, (i) As a Fresher if you are appearing for Class 10 for the very first time in 2023 or (ii) As a Repeater if you are re-appearing for the Class 10 exam in 2023 or (iii) Previously passed, that is, you have passed the Class 10 exam earlier than 2023.
Then you have to select from the options given, the Exam Board of the Class 10 exam (or equivalent exam), namely-
(i) SSC (Maharashtra State Secondary School Certificate)
(ii) CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education)
(iii) ICSE (Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations)
(iv) IB (International Baccalaureate)
(v) IGCSE (International General Certificate of Secondary Education)
(vi) NIOS (National Institute of Open Schooling)
(vii) Specify any other Board.
Next, you have to provide specific details of your Class 10 exam (or equivalent exam), namely, Seat/Roll Number, the month when you appeared, the year, and your name as it appears in the Class 10 mark sheet/Admit Card.
The last section is where you have to enter your contact details, namely, your mobile number and email ID. Make sure that this is a valid number that is currently in use as it is required for communications with you to give you updates on the admission process. In case you do not have one, you could give the mobile number of a parent.
Finally, to secure your account, you need to select a security question and the answer. Another security feature is to enter a password with a minimum of 8 and a maximum of 15 characters that should include only alphabets and/or numbers.
Important dates
Filling up Part-1 of the registration form for admission by students will begin on 25th May 2023, 11 a.m. onwards.
Verification of details filled up in Part-1 by the institutes will begin on 25th May 2023.
Filling up Part-2 of the registration form for admission by students will be done after the declaration of Class 10 results (approximately within 5 days of the result – check the official website for updates on this).
