It is working for the development of human resources in the Power Sector for more than five decades. It operates on a pan-India basis through its eleven institutes. It is providing job-oriented and technologically advanced Post Graduate Diploma Courses in Power Plant Engineering, Renewable Energy and Grid Interface Technologies, Power System Operation, Smart Grid Technologies, and nine months Post Graduate Diploma Course in Hydro Power Plant Engineering. Admissions 2023
National Power Training Institute (NPTI), Haryana has announced admissions in 2023 into Post Graduate Diploma Courses in One-year Power Plant Engineering, One-year Renewable Energy and Grid Interface Technologies, and 9-months Hydro Power Plant Engineering. There is no Age limit for admission into PGDC Course.
The seat allocations of the institutes are as follows-
For Power Plant Engineering the total number of seats available is 300 of which 60 will be allocated for the Faridabad branch, 60 seats for Nagpur, 60 seats for Neyveli, 60 seats for Shivpuri, MP, and 60 seats for Durgapur.
For Renewable Energy and Grid Interface Technologies total seats available are 280 of which 60 will be allocated for Badarpur, New Delhi branch, 60 seats for PSTI, Bengaluru, 60 seats for Neyveli, 60 seats for Alappuzha, Kerala, and 40 seats for Guwahati.
For 9 months PGDC In Hydro Power Plant Engineering 60 seats are available for Nangal branch.
Reservation for SC/ST/OBC-NCL/EWS/Physically Challenged will be as per Government of India Norms. 25% of seats are reserved for sponsored candidates from Power Utilities.
Fee structure:
Fee details for the 1-year PGDC Course are as follows:
Course fee for the Non sponsored candidates will be Rs. 2,30,000/- plus GST 18%. Candidate should pay Rs. 23,600/- at the time of counseling for confirmation of admission which will be non-refundable. And Rs. 1,18,000/- to be paid towards 1st installment of the course fee at the time of joining or reporting to the allocated institute of which only 50% is refundable before the commencement of the course. And Rs. 1,29,800/- should be paid towards 2nd installment of the course fee by 1st Jan 2024.
Course fee for the sponsored candidates will be Rs. 3,60,000/- plus GST 18% of which Rs.23,600/- to be paid at the time of counseling for confirmation of admission which will be non-refundable. And Rs. 4,01,200/- should be paid towards the course fee at the time of reporting to the allocated institute which will be non-refundable.
Course Fee for International Candidates will be US$ 20,000 plus GST 18% which will be non-refundable candidate need to pay 10% of the fee at the time of counseling for confirmation of admission and the remaining balance should be paid at the time of joining.
Fee details for 9 months PGDC Course:
Course fee for the Non-Sponsored candidates will be Rs. 1,75,000/- plus GST 18% in that the candidate should pay Rs. 23,600 at the time of counseling for confirmation of admission which will be non-refundable. And Rs. 94,400/- to be paid towards 1st installment of the course fee at the time of reporting to the allocated institute in that only 50% will be refundable before the commencement of the course. And remaining Rs. 88,500/- should be paid towards 2nd installment of the course fee by 1st Jan 2024.
Course fee for the sponsored candidates will be Rs. 2,00,000/- plus GST 18% in which the candidate should pay Rs. 23,600/- at the time of counseling for confirmation of admission which will be non-refundable. And Rs. 2,12,400/- to be paid towards the course fee at the time of reporting to the allocated institute.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must fulfill the following eligibility criteria for admission into Post Graduate Diploma Course (PGDC):
For Power Plant Engineering: Candidates who completed B.Tech./ B.E. or its equivalent with a minimum of 60% of marks in Mechanical/ Electrical and Electronics/ C& I/Electrical/ Power Engineering and related branches.
For Renewable Energy and Grid Interface Technologies: Candidates who completed B.Tech./ B.E. or its equivalent with a minimum of 60% of marks in Mechanical/ Electrical and Electronics/ C& I/Electrical/ Power Engineering and related branches.
For 9 months PGDC In Hydro Power Plant Engineering : B.E./ B.Tech. or it's equivalent in Mechanical/ Electrical/ Electrical and Electronics/ Power Engineering from a recognized College or University with minimum 60% marks.
Selection Process
Selection of candidates is made based on the interview conducted by the NPTI, Faridabad, and the percentage of marks obtained by the candidates in the qualifying degree. The merit list is prepared based on the weightage of marks obtained in the degree and interview (i.e., 90% and 10% respectively). The interview will be conducted through Telephonic/ online platforms/ Conferencing. The shortlisted candidates will be offered admission to the PGDC programs through counseling.

The registration fee for admission is Rs.500/- including GST) to be paid online through State Bank Collect only. Candidates are requested to pay the registration fee before applying as they need to fill in the payment details in the online application form. Candidates can go to State Bank collect payment page at https://www.onlinesbi.com/sbicollect/icollecthome.htm. Then candidates need to search for National Power Training Institute- Haryana and then select the payment category as "PGDC Application Fee". No applications will be accepted without online payment. Applicants need to submit their final degree or provisional degree certificate during Counseling or Reporting.
