St. Xavier's College, Mumbai which is an autonomous college under the University of Mumbai, has announced admissions open for courses for the academic session 2023-24 through the Xavier's Entrance Test - XET 2023. International students are also welcome to apply. The college is implementing the 2020 National Education Policy (NEP) from the academic year 2023-24, and EWS students can apply for a concession in fees.

At the outset, it should be made clear that students are required to maintain a minimum of 75% attendance at lectures for every course, including tutorials if any, as otherwise, the student cannot appear for the End Semester Evaluation (ESE) in that course. Additionally, if you are appearing in the qualifying exam (whichever qualifying exam is applicable for admission to the specific course) later than the 2023 Entrance Test dates, then you are not eligible to apply for XET 2023.
St. Xavier's College Mumbai UG Courses
Bachelor of Management Studies (B.M.S.)
This is a 3-year course with 120 seats. The curriculum includes aspects of HR, finance, marketing, and production and case studies. Students are required to work on assignments and projects. A campus placement drive is scheduled to provide opportunities to get a job with reputed companies.BA - Mass Communication and Journalism (BA MCJ)
This 3-year course with 120 seats was earlier the Bachelor of Mass Media (BMM) course. The curriculum includes aspects of sociology, economics, communication skills, etc, and specializations in the final year are offered in advertising, communication, and journalism.

Eligibility for BMS and BA MCJ: You should have cleared the Class 12 exam conducted by any recognized State/Central Board. For other equivalent acceptable qualifying exams, please refer to the official admission notification. The date of birth should be on or after 1st June 2001.Bachelor of Science (Information Technology) (B.Sc. IT)
This 3-year course with 60 seats primarily focuses on the various dimensions of Mathematical abilities as well as aspects of computer programming, including AI, Cloud Computing, Computer Graphics, etc.
Eligibility: You should have cleared the Class 12 exam with at least 45% aggregate marks and with Mathematics as one of the subjects. The date of birth should be on or after 1st June 2001.
Important notes- If you have passed the qualifying exam from a Board or Pre-University other than the Maharashtra State Board, then you must apply for a Provisional Eligibility Certificate that is issued by the University of Mumbai through the college at the time of admission. The duly filled-in application form that is available at the college office should be submitted with an attested copy of the Class 12 mark sheet along with the prescribed fees to the college office when admission to the course is offered.
Furthermore, only these documents will be accepted as proof of date of birth- the School Leaving Certificate, and the Board/Pre-University Certificate/Birth Certificate that has been issued by a competent authority. Master in Arts Economics (MECO)
This is one of the new self-financed courses. A 2-year course with a specialization in Urban & Rural Development Strategic Planning, there are 60 seats. Students learn not only the theoretical aspects of designing a policy but also its mathematical and practical aspects, and understand how to effectively implement it in an urban as well as a rural setting.Master in Arts Public Policy (MPP)
This is a 2-year course with 60 seats. The curriculum includes analysis of public policy, research methodology, data collection methods, data analytics, legal and ethical aspects, rural and urban policies, foreign policy, etc. There will be a dissertation in the final semester.
Eligibility for MECO and MPP: You should have a Bachelor's Degree in any faculty or discipline with a minimum of 50% marks. Provisional admission will be given if you are awaiting the Semester VI results, based on the results of Semester V, but are required to submit the result of Semester VI when these are declared. MSc Biotechnology (MBTH)
There are 30 seats. The curriculum includes DNA typology, the structure of proteins, immunology, molecular biotechnology, metabolism, analytical techniques, bioinformatics, entrepreneurship, etc with a research project at the end of the course.
Eligibility: You should have a Bachelor's degree (10+2+3 pattern) in Biological Sciences (Biochemistry/Applied Biology/Biotechnology/Botany/Life Science/Microbiology/Zoology) with at least four core papers in either of these topics- Genetics and Molecular Biology, Immunology, Microbiology/Algae/Fungi, Biochemistry, Cytogenetics, Plant and Animal Biotechnology with Chemistry up to the S.Y.BSc. level.MSc Big Data Analytics (BDA)
There are 40 seats. The curriculum includes statistical methods, programming concepts, data collection and managing databases, linear algebra, machine learning, data visualization, etc.Application and XET Fees
The application fee is Rs. 500/- for all the courses. The Entrance Test fee for XET-2023 is Rs. 2,500/- for BA-MCJ, BMS, MPP, and MSc-BDA; and Rs. 1,500/- for BSc-IT, MSc-Biotech, and MA Economics.XET 2023 registration and application procedure
Applications for all the courses mentioned in this article are to be done at https://entrancetest.xaviers.edu/landing after registration. If you are an already registered applicant, then you just need to log in with your login ID and password. Before applying, read the details given under the Tab of 'Important Information' that is provided on the same page.
During the online application process, ensure that you enter all the subjects and the corresponding marks, as the best of 4 or 5 subjects will not be accepted. You must also upload the required documents in PDF format, namely, the Class XII mark sheet. Christian Minority candidates also have to upload the Baptism certificate, while candidates applying in categories like wards of Ex-Servicemen, Govt. employees, Sports award winners, those with a disability, etc need to upload the relevant certificate. You are allowed to select only one Centre for the entrance exam in the application form.
You will be required to submit an attested copy of ID proof, such as your Aadhar Card/Pan Card/Passport/Driving License for verification of identity at the time of admission to the course, and for the college documentation process, along with original certificates/mark sheets, and attested copies as required for a specific course.
It is important to note that as per the norms of the University of Mumbai, it is mandatory to fill in the Pre-Admission Online Registration Form at http://mum.digitaluniversity.ac for admission to the first year of the B.Sc. (IT), BA (MCJ), and B.M.S. courses.

The Application deadline is 2nd June 2023, up to 6 p.m.
The XET 2023 for BA(MCJ) and BMS will be held between the 7th (Wednesday), 8th (Thursday), and 9th (Friday) of June 2023. The center in Mumbai is at St. Xavier's College, Mumbai only.
The XET 2023 for BA (MCJ) and BMS for centers outside Mumbai, will be held between the 10th (Saturday) and 11th (Sunday) of June 2023. The centers outside Mumbai are at- Pune, Delhi, Bangalore, Jaipur, Chennai, Cochin, Ranchi, Hyderabad, Kolkata, and Guwahati.
Downloading of the Hall ticket for the XET 2023 for BA (MCJ), BMS, and the PG courses can be done from 5th June 2023, and for BSc (IT) from 27th May 2023 onwards. The timings and the venue for XET 2023 will be mentioned on the Admit Card.
Important: If you have appeared for the qualifying exam in 2023, then you must log in and enter the marks obtained in the qualifying exam and upload the mark sheet on the declaration of your result, otherwise you will not be able to get the Admit card for XET 2023.Contact information
