About NIFTEM
National Institute of Food Technology Entrepreneurship and Management (NIFTEM), Kundli was established in the year 2012. It is an Institute of National Importance by the act of parliament under the Ministry of Food Processing Industries, Government of India. It provides Under Graduate, Post Graduate, Master in Business Applications, and Ph.D. Programs with various specializations.
Admissions 2023
Online applications are invited for admission into the following Programmes:
B.Tech four-year regular Degree Programme in Food Technology and Management (FTM).
M.Tech two years regular Degree Programme in the following Streams:
Food Technology and Management (FTM)
Food Process Engineering and Management (FPTM)
Food Safety and Quality Management (FSQM)
Food Supply Chain Management (FSCM)
Food Plant Operations Management (FPOM)
MBA two years Regular Degree Programme with dual Specialization:
Food and Agri-Business Management ( Compulsory)
Marketing / Finance/ International Business (anyone to be chosen)
Ph.D. (Full Time) Regular Degree Programme in the following Streams:
Agriculture & Environmental Sciences (AES)
Basic & Applied Sciences (BAS)
Food Engineering (FE)
Food Business Management & Entrepreneurship Development (FBM&ED)
Food Science & Technology (FST)
Number of Seats Available in each Programme is as follows:
For B.Tech: Seats available are 180 and 5% Supernumerary seats for Tuition Fee Waiver and 5% Supernumerary seats for Kashmiri Migrants.
For M.Tech: Seats available are 90, and 18 in each M.Tech programme, all reservations as per Government of India Norms.
For MBA: Seats available are 30 and 5% Supernumerary seats for Tuition Waiver.
For Ph.D.: Number of seats as per vacant seats available with the Ph.D. Supervisor in the respective Department, all reservations as per Government of India Norms.
Eligibility Criteria
Candidates have to fulfill the following eligibility criteria for admission into B. Tech, M.Tech, MBA, and Ph.D. Programs:
For B.Tech: Candidate who has passed class 12th exam and should have qualified in JEE (Mains) 2023.
For M.Tech: Four Years Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree in a relevant discipline with minimum 60% aggregate marks and 55% in case of SC/ST or equivalent CGPA.
For MBA: Bachelor's degree and equivalent in relevant discipline with minimum 50% aggregate marks and 45% in case of SC/ST or equivalent CGPA.
For Ph.D.:Master degree in a relevant discipline with at least 60% of marks. Preference is given to NET-qualified candidates.
Selection Procedure
The selection process for admission into B.Tech, M.Tech, MBA, and Ph.D. Programmes are as follows:
For B.Tech: The selection Procedure is through JoSAA/CSAB Counselling and Direct Admission Counselling in case of vacant seats after JoSAA/CSAB.
For M.Tech: The selection Procedure for GATE-qualified candidates is through a valid GATE Score for the year 2023, and Entrance Test for Non-GATE Candidates.
For MBA: The selection Procedure for CAT/MAT/CMAT qualified candidates is through the last two years CAT/MAT/CMAT Score (i.e., 2022 & 2023) and Entrance Test followed by GD/Personal Interview for Non-CAT/MAT/CMAT candidates.
For Ph.D. : Selection is done based on the NET/ Research Entrance Test followed by an Interview conducted at NIFTEM. Candidates can apply only in one department. CSIR-UGC JRF or any other JRF holders are exempted from the entrance test but need to appear for the interview conducted by Institute.
Application Procedure
Interested and eligible candidates are requested to apply online through the site www.niftem.ac.in by 15th June 2023. Candidates need to pay an application form fee of Rs.1000/- for OBC-NCL/EWS/Unreserved categories and candidates belonging to ST/SC/PwD categories are required to pay Rs.500/-.
