Being under the aegis of Directorate General of Training, Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship (Women Training), Govt. of India; National Skill Training Institute for Women, Kolkata is a leading institution to provide industry oriented vocational training and vocational instructor's training for women as well.
It is a premier vocational training institute for women located in Kolkata, West Bengal. NSTI (W), Kolkata offers various courses under Craftsmen Training Scheme (CTS), Craft Instructor Training Scheme (CITS), and Advanced Diploma. The entire campus is wifi enabled. Hostel facilities are also available for the outstation students. Free study materials are provided by the institute.
Presently, the institute has published an admission notification for ITI courses under Craftsman Training Scheme (CTS) 2023-24 in NSTI(W), Kolkata. Eligible candidates should apply urgently.
Courses offered
The Government of India started the Craftsmen Training Scheme (CTS) in the year 1950 to inculcate industrial skills among the educated young generation. Presently, there are 15,042 ITIs out of which 2738 nos. Govt. 2,738 and 12304 nos. Private, and 33 NSTIs are offering this scheme throughout the country.
The institute is now seeking applications for the following courses under the said scheme under the aegis of the National Council of Vocational Training for the academic session 2022-23:
The session will be started on 1st August 2023 in National Skill Training Institute for Women, Kolkata. The courses are based on theory and practical classes as well as employability skills. At least 80% attendance and 60% sessional marks in theory as well as practical are required to appear in the final trade exam which will be organized at the end of the course in June or July 2024. The National Council of Vocational Training will finally issue a certificate to the candidates who will pass the final examination.Eligibility Criteria
Candidates should be passed in the 10th standard class examination or equivalent to apply for admission to ITI courses in NSTI (W), Kolkata. There is no upper age limit for the candidates. Seat reservations will be as per the standard norms set by the Government. Admission will be solely on the merit list which will be prepared based on the marks scored in the 10th examination.Fee structure

Hostel fees: Candidates may avail of the hostel facility on payment of refundable money of Rs. 125/- as hostel caution money. The monthly hostel rent is Rs. 100/- and the hostel service charge is Rs. 50/-. Mess charge should be paid by the candidates extra.How to apply
Candidates should visit https://nstiwkolkata.dgt.gov.in/sites/default/files/2023-06/cts.pdf to obtain the prescribed applications format. The filled-in application form should be submitted at the school office on payment of Rs. 50/- as a form submission fee/ registration fee which is not applicable for SC/ ST candidates. Candidates should have a valid Adhaar number along with the Adhaar link active mobile number and e-mail id.
