About PSTU
Potti Sreeramulu Telugu University was established in the year 1985 on 2nd December through an Act of Legislation as "Telugu University" with headquarters at Hyderabad and campuses at Rajahmundry and Sri Sailam. The Siddhendra Kalakshetram at Kuchipudi merged with the University in the year 1994. The School of Folk and Tribal Lore at Warangal was established in 1994. The state government has merged the Sahitya, Sangeetha, Nataka, Nritya, and Lalitha Kala Academies, International Telugu Institute, and Telugu Bhasha Samithi into the University. It was established as a central organization for teaching and research in Language and Literature, History and Culture, Fine Arts and Performing Arts, religion, and philosophy of the Telugu-speaking people. Later it was renamed Potti Sreeramulu Telugu University in the year 1998.
Admission 2023
Potti Sreeramulu Telugu University (PSTU) invites applications for various programs in the Department of Design from eligible candidates across the nation. The programs offered by the university for admission 2023 into various programs are as follows:
For the Bachelor of Design program duration will be 4 Years-8 Semesters and the Intake of seats will be 60 in each discipline and in that 40 seats for Regular and 20 seats for Self Supporting.
For the Master of Design program duration of the course will be 2 Years-4 Semesters and the Intake of seats for each discipline will be 40 for Self Supporting Seats.
For the Certificate course in the Department of Design program duration of the course will be 1 year-2 Semesters and the intake of seats for each discipline will be 20 for Self-Supporting Seats.
Fee Details:
For Bachelor of Desing in Product Design, Visual Communication, and Interior Design total annual fee will be Rs.60,000/- for self-supporting seats and Rs. 50,700/- for regular seats in which the entrance fee will be Rs.200/- Tuition fee will be Rs.50,000/- Library Deposite will be Rs.300/- and Migration fee for other state students will be Rs.200/-.
For Master of Design in Interior Design and Graphic Design total annual fee will be Rs.75,700/- for self-supporting seats in which the Entrance fee will be Rs.200/- Tuition fee will be Rs.75,000/-, Library Deposite will be Rs. 300/- and Migration fee will be Rs.200/-.
For Certificate in Fundamentals of UI/UX, Digital Drafting & 3D Rendering, and Photography & Video editing annual fee will be Rs.15,400/- for Self Supporting Seats in which the Entrance fee will be Rs.200/- Tuition fee will be Rs.15,000/- and Migration fee will be Rs.200/-.
Eligibility Criteria
Candidates need to fulfill the following eligibility criteria for admission into UG in Bachelor of Design, PG in Master of Design, and Certificate course in the Department of Design.
Bachelor of Design in Product Design: Candidate must have passed SSC and Intermediate.
Bachelor of Design in Visual Communication: Candidate must have passed SSC and Intermediate.
Bachelor of Design in Interior Design: Candidate must have passed SSC and Intermediate.
Bachelor of Design in Fashion and Textile Design: Candidate must have passed SSC and Intermediate.
Master of Design in Interior Design: Candidate who has passed SSC, Intermediate, and Degree are eligible.
Master of Design in Bussiness Design Management: Candidates who have passed SSC, Intermediate, and Degree are eligible.
Master of Design in Fashion and Textile Design: Candidates who have passed SSC, Intermediate, and Degree are eligible.
Master of Design in Film Design: Candidates who have passed SSC, Intermediate, and Degree are eligible.
Master of Design in User Interface and User Experience Design: Candidates who have passed SSC, Intermediate, and Degree are eligible.
Master of Design in Industrial Design: Candidates who have passed SSC, Intermediate, and Degree are eligible.
Certificate in UI/UX: Candidates who have passed 10th are eligible.
Certificate in Interior Design and Decoration: Candidates who have passed 10th are eligible.
Certificate in Photography & Video editing: Candidates who have passed 10th are eligible.
Certificate in Drawing and Painting Sculpture & Modeling: Candidates who have passed 10th are eligible.
Certificate in Animation and VFX: Candidates who have passed 10th are eligible.
Certificate in Stitching and Tailoring: Candidates who have passed 10th are eligible.
Selection Process
Selection is made based on the entrance test conducted by the university. The entrance test will be conducted for 100 marks with multiple-choice questions. Candidates can download entrance test hall tickets from the university website. Details about the entrance test will be sent to your phone number which you will provide at the time of application. If applications received are less than the intake of seats for admission then the seats are allocated without conducting entrance tests and by considering the qualified marks in studies.
Admission Procedure
Applicants who are interested in admission to the Department of Design are requested to apply online through Potti Sreeramulu Telugu University Website by 17th June 2023 without late fee and by 30th June 2023 with late fee of Rs.100/-. The application fee for admission into U.G., P.G., and Certificate courses is Rs. 500/-. And Tatkal applications will be available till one day before the examination date with a late fee of Rs 1000/.
