The Dean of Government Dental College and Hospital, Mumbai has released the admission notification for admission to Diploma courses for the academic year 2023-24. The Government Dental College, which is affiliated with the Maharashtra University of Health Sciences (MUHS), Nashik offers Oral health education programs and has good infrastructure with hostels (limited hostel seats are available), a library, a cafeteria, etc. About the Diploma Courses
There are two courses- Diploma Course in Dental Hygienist, and Diploma Course in Dental Mechanics. If you apply for both the Diploma courses, then you must submit a separate application for each.
Both are 2-year full-time courses on campus, with 10 seats for each course. Seats are kept aside for students applying in the reserved categories as per the State Govt. and Central Govt. norms. Only Indian nationals can apply, and selection will be on the basis of merit only, with an interview likely for final selection to the courses.Government Dental College Mumbai Diploma Course Fees
The changes in the fee structure for the academic year 2023-24 are currently under process with the State Govt. and the changes will be applicable to all students. The overall course fee will include the tuition fee, fees for gym facilities, deposits for the labs and the library, exam fees, etc.
Government Dental College Mumbai Diploma Course Eligibility Crtieria
Age criterion: You should have completed 17 years of age on the date of admission to the Diploma course, or completed this age criterion within the next three months.
Educational Qualification: You should have passed the Higher Secondary Certificate Exam (Class 12) in the Science stream or an equivalent exam from a recognized institute in Maharashtra. You should have taken the subjects of English, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology at the Class 12 level.Government Dental College Mumbai Diploma Course Application Procedure

The application form for the GDC Mumbai Diploma courses will be available from 15th June 2023 to 7th July 2023.
The completed application form should be submitted in person at the college (refer to the address given at the end of this article) with a passport-size photo affixed, along with photocopies of the required documents or it can be submitted by post. The photo should be a recent one, not taken more than 6 months prior to the date of application.
Closing date of receipt of applications: 7th July 2023, latest by 5 p.m.

Note that any application form that is received after the closing date and time will be rejected, and the college is not responsible for postal delays. Incomplete forms and those that are not signed will also be rejected. You need to attach photocopies of the relevant documents with the application form and must bring the originals of these same documents at the time of interviews. The originals will be kept by the college till you complete the Diploma course.
After selection Once selected for admission to a Diploma course at the Government Dental College Mumbai, you will be required to submit an undertaking in writing that you will adhere to the rules and regulations of the college. You must join the college to start the course as per the date given otherwise your admission will be cancelled. You will be permitted to appear for the exam only on having over 75% attendance, and once you complete the course you must register your name with the Maharashtra State Dental Council
