The K.B. Joshi Institute of IT, Pune was established in 20023 by the Maharshi Karve Stree Shikshan Samstha (MKSSS). Approved by the State Govt. and affiliated with the S.N.D.T. University, Mumbai the college is only for girls, who can pursue undergraduate and postgraduate courses here for a future career in the field of computer applications and information technology as programmers, software developers, technical writers, database administrators, etc. The Wi-Fi-enabled campus has good infrastructure, including a library, computer labs, air-conditioned classrooms, a canteen, hostel accommodation, etc. The placement cell arranges recruitment drives for graduating students on the campus, with potential employers. UG Courses

The college offers two 3-year UG courses, namely, BCA and B.Sc. (IT).

Eligibility: While for B.Sc. (IT) you need to have passed the Class 12 exam in the science stream with any four science subjects, for the BCA course it does not matter which stream - Arts, Science or Commerce are all acceptable. A diploma in engineering (IT/Computer) is also acceptable for admission to both courses. In the case of the BCA course, you can also apply if you have completed a Minimum Competency and Vocational Course (MCVC). Note that for whichever course you apply, you should have taken English as a subject at the Class 12 level.

The minimum marks required in the Class 12 exam for BCA is 45% marks (for reserved category students it is min. 40%), and for the B.Sc. (IT) course it is min. 50% (for reserved category students it is min. 45%).

While applying online, you have to provide basic details, such as the address, mobile number, email ID, etc (details of the student who is applying and of the parent are required) and upload the relevant documents (the document size should not exceed 1MB). The documents required are-
  1. A passport-size photo in JPG or PNG format, with the photo size not more than 2 MB

  2. Mark sheets of Class 10 and Class 12

  3. College Leaving Certificate of the college from which you passed the Class 12 exam

  4. Aadhar Card

  5. Caste certificate, if applicable

Once your application is approved and you are given provisional admission, you need to submit these documents for verification in order to get final admission to the course-
  1. Original and attested copies of the mark sheets of Class 10 and Class 12

  2. Migration certificate if you are not a student of the State of Maharashtra

  3. Original and attested copy of the Transfer Certificate if you studied in a college affiliated with S.N.D.T. Women's University

  4. Caste certificate if applicable

  5. Gap certificate if applicable

  6. Photocopy of Aadhar Card

  7. Five recent photos

  8. Original of the certificate indicating a change in the name if you are a married applicant (the certificate should have the seal and signature of a Gazette Officer)




PG Courses

The college offers two 2-year postgraduate courses, namely MCA, and M.Sc. (IT).

Eligibility: In the case of admission to the MCA course, you need to be a Graduate with min. 50% in the qualifying exam, and also appear for the MAH-MCA CET (Common Entrance Test conducted by the State Govt.). Know more about MCA courses in India.

In the case of the M.Sc. (IT) course, you need to be a science Graduate. The acceptable Graduate qualifications are- BSc.(Physics), BSc. (Maths.), BSc (Elect.), BSc.(IT), B.Sc.(CS) or BCA. Optionally, you are eligible to apply if you are an Engineering Graduate in an allied subject with min. 50% in the qualifying exam (min. 45% is acceptable for reserved category candidates). It is also mandatory to have studied Maths at the Class 12 level or at the Graduate level as a subject having 100 marks.

The admission process is the same as for UG courses, with the additional document required including the mark sheets/certificate of the Graduation Degree (confirm with the college the list of documents).
