University of Mumbai M.Sc. Data Science online course admissions 2023-24
Looking for information on the M.Sc. Data Science online course of the University of Mumbai? The University of Mumbai has released the admission notification for the blended learning online program in M.Sc. Data Science. Details of the course learning modules, the course fee, eligibility criteria, the entrance test, and the application procedure have been provided.
University of Mumbai's Department of Computer Science (UDCS) has announced admissions open for the postgraduate M.Sc. (Data Science) program that has a syllabus in accordance with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. Admission will be given on the basis of merit as per the scores obtained in the entrance test that is scheduled by the Department.

There are 120 seats for the M.Sc. (Data Science) program which is of two years duration. The program has 88 credits with mandatory courses, electives, research methodology, research projects, and on-job training. Since classes are offered in blended learning mode (online sessions), this program makes it ideal for working professionals. In addition to getting very detailed knowledge about the varied technological concepts associated with data science, the coursework will enable you to develop decision-making abilities and business analytical skills.
What you will learn: In the first semester the learning modules include fundamentals of data science, programming languages, database technologies, and statistical methods for data science. In the second semester, you will be getting more advanced knowledge, learning about algorithms for data science, soft computing, AI and Machine Learning, and optimization techniques.
M.Sc. (Data Science) program fee: The admission fee for both semesters is Rs. 36,405/- if you are applying in the Open category or in the OBC/SBC/NT categories. In the case of applications in the SC and ST categories, the admission fee for both semesters is Rs. 725/- (it is compulsory to fill out the Govt. of India Freeship/Scholarship form). Note that the admission fee does not include the exam fee.
Eligibility criteria: You need to be a Graduate in any stream with a minimum of 50%. A basic understanding of statistics would surely be helpful since you will be learning statistical programming languages and methods.UDCS M.Sc. Data Science Application Process
For the application process, scan and keep ready all relevant documents, such as the mark sheets, and the Domicile Certificate as well. In case you do not have a domicile certificate, you can upload a copy of the birth certificate or the ration card or the Aadhar Card (both sides of the Aadhar should be uploaded).
The first step in the application process is to pre-register latest by 5th August 2023 up to 11 a.m. at https://muadmission.samarth.edu.in/
Next, fill in the online application form for the entrance test latest by 8th August 2023 at https://forms.epravesh.com/Mumbaiuniversity/Default.aspx
Note that without pre-registration, you cannot fill up the application for the entrance test, and if you do not appear for the entrance test, then you will not be eligible for admission. It is also essential to register with the Academic Bank of Credit (ABC).
Entrance Test details
The UDCS M.Sc. Data Science entrance test fee is Rs. 500/-. It is scheduled for 19th August 2023 at 11.00 a.m. (check the official website regularly for updates in case of any change in the date).
The entrance test will have 60 questions with one mark for each correct answer, and no negative marking. Sections: English, GK, Logic, Maths, Statistics, and Computer Science.Important dates
The pre-registration should be done latest by 5th August, no later than 11 a.m.
The application form and the application fee are to be submitted latest by 8th August 2023.
The entrance test will be conducted online on 19th August 2023 at 11 a.m.
The list of students who are eligible for admission will be displayed on the official website on 24th August 2023.
