The Advanced Diploma in Automotive Mechatronics course is a full-time one spread over five modules, for the duration of one year. The course curriculum will ensure that you learn all aspects of the maintenance of sophisticated, technologically advanced vehicles. In addition to the three main components, namely, mechanical, electronics, and advanced automotive systems, you will also have sessions to develop communication skills and learn how to make presentations with modern tools. A huge benefit is to do actual maintenance work on vehicles for a one-month hands-on session at a dealer's workshop, which forms the fifth component of the course. On successfully completing the course, you will be awarded a certificate of Advanced Diploma in Automotive Mechatronics that will be signed by the Principal of the Govt. Polytechnic, Pune as well as an Officer from Mercedes Benz India Pvt. Ltd.
Let's have a closer look at the ADAM Course Curriculum-
The Mechanical module of the course focuses on the heart of a vehicle, namely, the engine. You will know about the types of engines that are installed in modern vehicles today, the Chassis systems, etc. You will be introduced to the information and management system that involves preparing a maintenance & service checklist and creating a work plan around it.
The Electronics module of the course is centered on the electrical and wiring components of a vehicle. This includes learning what a particular symbol of a component stands for, and its functional role. You will be working on a lot of diagrams of the components and sockets, and understand how to read a wiring diagram as well. Sensors, digital electronic components, Controller Area Networks (CAN bus), etc. are other aspects of this module.
The Advanced Automotive Systems module of the course gives a more in-depth study of vehicle components and management systems, including ME-SFI control units, PARKTRONIC® (the parking guidance system in Mercedes-Benz vehicles), MOST technology (Media Oriented Systems Transport), emission control management, etc.
Course Fees: The tuition fee for the Advanced Diploma in Automotive Mechatronics course is Rs. 1,00,000/-. You can pay this fee in two instalments, but admission to the course is confirmed only when you pay the first instalment of Rs. 50,000/.
Hostel Fee: There are only a few seats available for hostel accommodation. The fee is Rs.15,000/-.ADAM Course Eligibility criteria
You should have passed an AICTE and MSBTE-approved Diploma or Degree course in any of these- Mechanical Engineering or Automobile Engineering or Electrical Engineering or Electronics & Tele-communication or Mechatronics or any other equivalent branch.
It is essential that you have a valid degree/diploma certificate and submit it prior to the starting date of the course, otherwise, you will not be allowed to begin the course.ADAM Course Application process
You have to download the application form from the Government Polytechnic, Pune official website and take a print out of it. Fill in the form and send it by postal mail along with (1) attested photocopies of all mark sheets and certificates of Diploma/Degree in Engineering, and (2) a Demand Draft (DD) of Rs.500/- (this is a non-refundable fee for the entrance exam) favoring "Principal, Government Polytechnic, Pune" that is payable at Pune, to-

Note- In case you are unable to send the application form, the DD, and educational documents by postal mail, then you may send the scanned copy of the same along with the form by email to adamgpp@gppune.ac.in, and then produce the original DD of Rs.500/- as well as the required educational documents along with application form at the time of the entrance test. There is no separate letter or Admit Card/Hall ticket for the entrance test. You just have to be present at the test centre one hour before the entrance test begins and have to bring any one of these as valid ID proof - PAN Card, or Driving License or Aadhaar Card, or any other valid ID proof. You must also bring to the test centre the original essential educational documents.ADAM Course Selection process
You have to first appear for an entrance test, followed by a practical test, and then a personal interview. The entrance test has Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), with a total of 150 marks. The components are—

When the Advanced Diploma in Automotive Mechatronics course begins, on that date, you must produce the original educational documents and the original DD of the paid tuition fees.
