How to Convert Typed Text Into Personal Handwriting

When you read the title, you might have thought why is there a need to convert typed text into handwritten text? Well, there are many reasons for that. But I will tell you the most compelling one. It is a fact that typing is easier than writing because there is less complexity involved.

Typing is easier than writing because there is less complexity involved. And that is helpful for people with

dysgraphia or dyslexia (learning differences that make it difficult for people to write and read respectively).

However, that still does not answer why we need to convert the typed text into handwriting. Well, people with dysgraphia may be forced to turn in handwritten work, or they want to keep handwritten notes because they are better for learning. In such cases, converting typed text into handwriting is a great idea.

But, how do they do that exactly? With the help of a certain tool called a text-to-handwriting converter. These are basically online tools that can change typed text to look like it was handwritten.

Steps for Converting Typed Text into Handwriting

We are going to teach you how you can find such tools and use them to convert your text into a plausible imitation of handwriting.

  1. Find a tool

The first step is obviously finding a tool that can convert text to handwriting. To do that you need to go online, open a browser, and then navigate to a search engine. We recommend using Google as it provides the best results.

Just type in a phrase or word that has something to do with converting text into hand writing . That should show you plenty of results that are relevant. Most of these results will be actual tools rather than blog posts about them.

If you are a student then you want to look for a free tool. Thankfully most tools that convert text to handwriting are completely free. But you will also want to find a tool that has different options so that you can personalize the output.

That’s quite easy to do, whenever you check out a tool just quickly scroll to see if it has options for handwriting styles, pen/ink, and page type. If it does, then you are set.

  1. Input Your Content

Once you have selected an appropriate tool, it's time to input the text that you want to convert to handwriting. Usually, a handwriting converter has a conspicuous text box used for inputting content. Users can either:

  • Copy and paste content from a file to this box.

  • Or they can directly start writing in it.

The advantage of directly writing in the box is that you can see the results in real time. Therefore you can immediately make corrections in the input. After all, the handwritten text will look different than the typed text, you may need to adjust the format somewhat to make the output look better.

Some tools have another method of inputting the text and that is to upload a file. There is a button somewhere on the UI that either says “Upload” or has an icon of a file with an upward arrow. You can use whatever method of input you deem fit or convenient.

  1. Tweak the Settings for Personalization

Now that your content has been entered into the tool you have to customize it to turn it into personal handwriting. You can do that by tweaking the settings. An average handwriting converter has the following options:

  • Different handwriting styles

  • Different ink colors

  • Different pen styles

  • Changeable font and heading size

  • Multiple page types for background

These options let you create different styles of work and create a personalized output. For example, look at the following images to see how the same content can differ by tweaking the settings.

And the other one.

So, just play around with the settings until you settle on a style combination that feels personal enough.

  1. Download/Print the Output

Once you are done customizing the output you can download the output. There are various options here as well. For example, you can download the output as an image (PNG), or you can download it as a PDF.

Of course, the limitation here is that you cannot get the output in a format that is easy to edit. So, make sure all of your editing is done before you get the output. Once you have the PNG or the PDF you can print them out on an A4 sheet and you will have a convincing handwritten work.

Alternatively, you can also directly print the output from the webpage, but that has the drawback of your work not being saved. So, it is better to download the output if you want to save a digital copy as well. Anyway, with that you should be done and have a nice personalized handwritten copy of your digital text.

Conclusion

That’s it for this article. We discussed what is handwriting converting and why it is required. One of the most compelling reasons was that it is helpful for people with dysgraphia. Later we looked at the steps required for converting digitally written text into handwriting. Now, you should know how to do the entire process yourself as well.

A good article from the author and digitally converting typed matter to handwriting is very well explained. I never knew about dysgraphia or dyslexia. It is a really interesting article.
It is a fact that if we write something with our own hands we will remember it for a longer duration. That is why in the 1970s and 1980s students were asked to write the same answers many times so that they would remember the same for a long time. Even in offices, people used to write first and then get it typed. These days the writing practice has come down. Everybody started using computers and typing only.

Very recently, I have discovered this interesting feature myself.

Converting PDF or Word into handwriting mode can be done using 'Optical Character Recognition' (OCR) technology. OCR is a technology which turns documents, such as images or non-editable PDFs, into editable text files. It scans a document page and recognizes the letters, numbers, and symbols, recreating them in a machine-readable format. OCR can even work on handwriting to convert sheets of notes into editable PDF files.

As mentioned in this article, different styles of handwriting can be made. There are different websites available for this purpose (converting PDF/Word to handwriting style), which anyone interested can find by a simple Google search.

Nowadays, I am trying to convert different PDF/Word files used by me in handwriting style which resembles the handwriting of my departed father. Suddenly, I found this Article and so I responded.
