CBSE Scholarships 2023 for Single Girl Child and Class X 2022 Renewal applications open
Searching for scholarships for girls for Class 11 and Class 12? The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is offering scholarships for female students (girl child) who are the only children of their parents to study further after passing Class 10 in 2023 and have enrolled in Class XI in a CBSE-affiliated school. The scholarships will be awarded on a meritorious basis for those fulfilling the eligibility requirements, with all applications thoroughly scrutinized by members of screening committees. Girl students can also apply for a renewal of their scholarships under the Single Girl Child Scholarship Class X 2022 Scheme (that is, Renewal 2023 for those awarded the scholarship in 2022).

Number of Scholarships: The number of scholarships is not fixed, and will vary from year to year.
Scholarship Amount: Rs. 500/- per month, to be awarded for a maximum of two years only. The scholarship amount will be disbursed through ECS/NEFT.
Scholarship Duration: The scholarship will be offered for the duration of one year, that is, for completing Class XI. The student can renew the scholarship by applying for the renewal, depending on getting promoted to the next class (Class XII) with a minimum score of 50% in aggregate in the qualifying exam for promotion to the next class.
It is important to note that the present school where the applicant is studying must verify the application through the online processing system provided for schools, otherwise, the application will be rejected. Also, if a scholarship gets cancelled, it will not be renewed.
Eligibility Criteria for Scholarship X 2023 Scheme
You must be the single girl child of your parents, with no siblings. A girl who has a brother or a sister is not eligible to apply for this scholarship. Other eligibility requirements are as follows-
Nationality: Indian nationals and NRI applicants of the CBSE Board can apply.
Educational Qualification: You should have secured 60% or more marks in the CBSE Class 10 exam, and should currently be studying in Class 11 and Class 12 in a school that is affiliated with CBSE). Note that only applicants who have passed the CBSE Class 10 exam in 2023 are eligible to apply for the 2023 fresh application scheme.
School fee criterion: The tuition fee of the Class in which you are enrolled should not be more than Rs. 1,500/- per month during the academic year. In the subsequent two years, the total enhancement in the tuition fee in that school should not exceed 10% of the tuition fee charged.
In the case of NRI applicants, the tuition fee has been limited to a maximum of Rs. 60,000/ per month.Eligibility Criteria for Scholarship X 2022 Renewal Scheme
You should have been an awardee of the CBSE Single Girl Child Merit Scholarship last year (2022) and should be a Class XI student of a CBSE-affiliated school in the previous year with a min. 50% score in Class XI and promoted to Class XII. The tuition fee should not exceed Rs. 1,500/- per month in Class X and 10% enhancement for Class XI and XII.
It is necessary to have maintained regularity in attending classes and have good conduct. If you have opted to stop the course of study or change the school or course of study, then the scholarship renewal will be subject to prior approval of the CBSE Board.
Note that the renewal is not automatic and an application for renewal must be made in online mode.Application procedure
For both, fresh applications, and renewal of applications, the submission has to be made in online mode only through the relevant link that is available at https://www.cbse.gov.in/cbsenew/scholar.html
Applications in hard copy or any other type of offline application will not be accepted.
How to apply: Click on 'Guidelines and Application Forms 2023/Apply Online' and log in with the Class X Roll Number and the Date of Birth. Then fill in the online application form, upload the latest photo, and the first page of the Bank Passbook. On successful submission of the form, an application number will be generated. You can download and take a printout of the confirmation page after the final submission of the application form. Subsequently, you can track the status of your application. Verification process by the school
The school must verify the student's application at https://cbseit.in/cbse/2023/sgcx/schlogin.aspx with a login using the existing User ID and Password. Once the details of the student are verified as per the eligibility guidelines, the school can approve the application. If the details of the applicant are not correct, the school can reject the application. On approval by the school, the application will be processed further by the CBSE Board.
Note: Once the application is verified, and the status has been updated, no changes can be made in the application. In case the application status shows that it is pending, the student should contact the school and make inquiries about the reason for the pending status.Important dates
