Overview

KRCRSSG, Kittur is a CBSE-affiliated boarding school with classes from Std. 6 to Std. 12 that follows the academic and co-curricular pattern of Sainik schools in India and offers the 10+2 system of CBSE (Science stream). In addition to the regular CBSE curriculum, students will be given coaching to prepare for competitive exams, such as JEE, through a collaboration with Hanchinmani Classes, Dharwad. In addition to NCC training and the Girl Guides program, sports activities include swimming, horse riding, athletics, etc with sessions for yoga and meditation. NDA training programs are also organized.



Admission process

Girls from all over India can apply for admission to KRCRSSG, Kittur. Admission will be given on the basis of scores in the entrance test, along with other aspects of the selection process, as per the number of vacancies available, and a student will be permitted to appear only once for the entrance test. Seats for reserved category candidates are as per norms, and adoption cases should be supported with the relevant registration documents in a Court of Law not less than 2 years before the first of June of the year of admission.

Scholarship scheme

Meritorious students who are natives of the State of Karnataka/Karnataka Domicile girls who have resided in the State for five years or more at the time of admission will be eligible to apply for the Govt. of Karnataka Merit Scholarship. Those who receive the scholarship must continue their education in the school up to Class 12 (Science stream), otherwise the full scholarship amount will be recovered at the time of issue of the Transfer Certificate.

KRCRSSG Eligibility criteria for admissions

Age criterion: The student should be born between 1st June 2012 and 31st May 2014.

Educational Qualification: The student should have passed Std. V from any recognized school.

Physical standards: (i) For girls of age 10-11 years: Height - 128 cms, and Weight - 25 kgs; (ii) For girls of age 11-12: Height - 130 cms, and Weight - 28 kgs.



KRCRSSG Kittur Entrance Exam

The entrance test for admission to Class VI is scheduled for January 2024. It is a written test in paper-pen mode with the papers available in Kannada or English. The two-hour test is of 200 marks with the following sections-
  1. Language Proficiency Test: (i) English - 25 marks. You must pass this English proficiency section; (ii) Kannada/Hindi - 25 marks.

  2. General Mathematics - 75 marks

  3. IQ (mental ability test) - 75 marks

Exam Fee: The fee to appear for the entrance test is Rs.2000/- for General Merit (GM) students, others, Karnataka students, and students outside the States of Karnataka. SC/ST students of Karnataka domicile have to pay a fee of Rs.1600/-.

Exam Centers: The entrance exam will be conducted at Bengaluru, Kalaburgi, Kittur, and Vijayapur, and you are free to select any one of your choice. Students must bring their Hall Ticket and ID proof for the entrance test. The Hall Tickets will be sent by ordinary post only.

After the result: Once you qualify through the written exam, you are required to appear for a physical fitness test, a personal interview/Viva Voce at Kittur (50 marks), and a medical exam. The score obtained in the interview will be added to your score in the written test to determine the final merit list of students eligible for admission to the school. The physical fitness test has 3 aspects- a 1km run, a standing broad jump, and a vertical jump.

Note: In case a student gets a low ranking on the merit list as per the scores in the written test + the interview, she will be allowed to apply for a vacant seat if there is any, based on a Full Fee Payment Scheme (FFP scheme). In such a case, parents are required to make a written request for it.

This is the list of documents required to be submitted at the time of admission-
Any valid document can be submitted as proof of date of birth, such as-
(i) Transfer certificate: This should be duly countersigned by the Block Education Officer (BEO)/ Deputy Director of Public Instruction (DDPI) of the concerned Block/District in case of a student who has previously attended a recognized school.
(ii) Certificate extract from the Register of Births issued by the Registrar of Births and Deaths, in case of a student who has not previously attended a recognized school.
(iii) Serving/Retired service personnel will produce the necessary Part – II orders/Certificates from the CO, Record/Service Headquarters furnishing the date of birth of the student as entered in the service records of the parent.

Important note: The affidavits/agreement should executed by the girl's father, and the mother can do so if she is the legal guardian. In case the girl does not have parents who are alive, a guardian may execute the documents, provided documentary proof is produced by the Guardian. In the case of adopted children, the original Adoption Deed should be produced for verification.



Important dates

The prospectus and application form will be available from 30th October 2023 to 15th December 2023. The last date to submit the application form without a penalty is 20th December 2023.

Late submissions: The prospectus and application form will be available from 16th December 2023 to 30th December 2023. The last date to submit the application form with penalty is 5th January 2024.

Date of written test: 28th January 2024.
