About the institute
IIMK or the Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode is one of the premier management in India. Set up as the fifth IIM in the country in the year 1996, the institute ranks very high among the top IIMs in India. The business school is autonomous and was set up as a collaboration between the Government of India and the State Government of Kerala. Located in Kozhikode (erstwhile Calicut), Kerala, the institute offers a full range of postgraduate and doctoral programs in several management streams. Surrounded by hills, the main campus of IIM Kozhikode has a scenic location. Built on 111 acres of land, the campus has boarding facilities for both students and faculty. There is also residential accommodation for visitors. Students numbering around 900, stay on the campus itself. Eligibility Criteria
Candidates should have a master's degree or a 2-year postgraduate diploma. Should have a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent CGPA.
Professional qualifications like CA, CS, or ICWA along with a bachelor's degree. Should have 60% or equivalent marks in bachelor's degree.
B.Tech or a 4-year degree course with at least 6.5 CGPA or equivalent marks. For applying for the Marketing Management stream, the candidates should have at least 3 years of work experience in the relevant field.
Those who are in the final year of their studies may also apply, however, they need to complete their qualification by 30 June 2023 and submit the required certificates by December 2023.Qualifying Exam
To apply for any of the doctoral programs at IIM Kozhikode, the candidates should have a valid test score. Depending upon the stream chosen, some of the valid qualifying exams in this respect are CAT, GMAT, GATE, GRE, UGC-NET, UGC JRF, and UGC/CSIR JRF. However, candidates opting to appear for the IIMB Test, need not have a valid test score in any of the above exams. The minimum cut-off in the IIMB Test or any of the above test scores is the 60th percentile. For EWS and OBC-NCL candidates the cut-off percentile is 55 and for SC, ST, and PWD candidates, 50 percentile.
There is a relaxation for candidates who have undergone a 2-year full-time PGDM or an MBA program from any of the IIMs or an Executive PGDM program from IIM Kozhikode. The minimum CGPA in such cases should be 2.67/4.33 or its equivalent 'B' grade.

Selection for the Ph.D. courses is based on the past academic performance of the applicants, the qualifying exam test score, and the submission of a research proposal. Shortlisted candidates are then called for a personal interview.
IIMK provides for the reservation of candidates from the SC/ST, EWS, PWD, and OBC categories as per Government of India norms.About the Research Proposal
Submission of a research proposal is a must for admission to any of the doctoral programs. The proposal should not exceed 2000 words. It should have a suitable title, justifications for undertaking the research, a research problem, relevant questions, research approaches to be undertaken, references, and a review of relevant literature on the subject.How to apply
Candidate must visit the IIM Kozhikode official website to apply. One can apply for a maximum of two specializations. A fee of INR 1,000 is to be paid as an application fee. An additional fee of INR 1,000 is to be paid if you opt to sit for the IIMB Test. The fee is to be paid online, the payment link for which is available in the application form.
