Manipal Institute of Technology, Manipal is a private institute, located in Karnataka. It has been accorded the Institution of Eminence status by the Ministry of Education, Govt of India (GOI). It is accredited by NACC with an A++ grade. A Ph.D. program is offered in two modes- Full-time with a scholarship and Part-time for working professionals. A Ph.D. full-time is for a minimum of 3.5 years and a maximum of 6 years. Application has been invited for PhD program. Eligible candidates can apply for the same.

    There are a limited number of scholarships to qualified doctoral students for a maximum of six years. The Ph.D. scholars who will join the full-time Ph.D. program will be eligible to receive a fellowship of Rs. 25,000 per month for a probationary period( 6 months Rs 31,000 for the first two years and Rs. 35,000 for third years.

    Eligibility Criteria

  • Candidate should have a master's degree with a minimum of 60% marks attained through a 1-year/2-semester program after a 4-year/8-semester bachelor's degree from a UGC-recognised institution or university.

  • Candidate possessed a master's degree achieved through a 2-year/4-semester program following a 3-year bachelor's degree from an institution or university acknowledged by UGC or the respective regulatory body.
    An equivalent qualification from a foreign educational institution recognized by the regulatory body in that particular country.

  • Candidate should have a UGC-recognised 4-year/8-semester bachelor's degree program from an institution or university.

  • Candidate should have an MBBS/BDS/PharmD degree from a UGC-recognized institution or university, as per the respective regulatory body.


  • Application Procedure

    Interested candidates must visit the official website of MIT and read the instructions carefully before applying online. To apply online the candidate must submit their application through the online application portal.

    For registration, candidates need to provide their full name, date of birth, email address, and mobile number. After registration, the candidate must log in using login credentials to fill out the online application form. Application forms can be filled out online by login using login credentials. The candidate needs to pay a Rs 2000 nonrefundable registration fee through a Debit card/Credit card (Master/VISA)/Net Banking/UPI.

  • "No objection" certificate from the present employer (for part-time candidates only).

  • Selection procedure

    Admission of the candidates to the Ph.D. programs will be done based on their performance in the All India online Ph.D. The Manipal Entrance Test (MET) conducted by MAHE and shortlisted candidates will be subjected to an interview conducted by the MAHE. The candidate who qualifies written test will be called for an interview. The final selection of the candidates will be based on academic credentials, written tests, and/or interviews. The application will be screened and only selected applicants will be called for a written test and an interview.
